Government promised us jobs by using taxpayer funds to spend on projects -- the administration called it "Stimulus Spending." The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) spent some of its money on "Next Generation Identification Program" developed by Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions and IBM.

NGI will connect with tens of thousands of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to apply facial recognition to the American public. NGI has the ambitious goal "to reduce terrorist and criminal activities by improving and expanding biometric identification and criminal history information services through research, evaluation, and implementation of advanced technology."

GIZMODO.COM reports:
How would you feel if the government could easily track your movements by automatically identifying your face on images captured by the ever-growing network of CCTV of cameras in America? The FBI will be able to do just that soon, with its one-billion-dollar Next Generation Identification program.

While the government spends billions on cameras, and face recognition technology directed at us to spy on us all, people are being arrested for pointing cameras at police.

I hope I'm not the only one that sees the problem here. Its all about using our money and resources to keep us in line when its the government that stages criminal activities like fast and furious that needs the cameras pointed at them.

No, I KNOW a muslim is a potential terrorist, since most terrorists are muslims.
He can't pick his parents(and melanin content of his skin), but he can decide whether or not to jihad innocent people to death.
I'm libertarian, and the TSA fist-f@cks Americans every day for going to family funerals, but we shouldn't FIND those muslim terrorist bombers, huh?

Which race is/has been persecuted by the above groups?
I believe it's pretty much all groups who are non-white. If you're referring to Muslims, that's a religious belief, not a race. Muslims are of every race imaginable.

I'm surprised your are surprised. I think most conservatives would agree that profiling works.
It makes more sense to watch some specific groups people than it does to watch other specific groups of people. Period. There is no need to compromise the privacy of ALL of us for the sake of a few however there is ALL the reason to profile the few for the sake of the many. Let's profile and take a better aim at the most likely offenders. It's not about being a bigot, you know better than that. There are more terrorists that want us dead than we have in all of our intelligence departments. It's about maximizing your efforts and being one step ahead of the game and nothing more. No one wants to be unduly spied on, especially Republicans!

No, no one is arguing that point that there are crazy white guys too but there are some groups of people that are more prone to violence against Americans. To examine them for reasonable cause, ESPECIALLY if they are foreigners is a just a new fact of their life for them and that's just the way it is.
And those examples you gave are of some groups that should have been profiled as well but to put up cameras to watch the MASSES whom are NOT terroristic threats is ridiculous. There is no point in profiling EVERYONE or it wouldn't be profiling and it wouldn't be effective...either in manpower or in costs. Not a very good use of taxpayer dollars and an invasion of reasonable privacy.
I think one of the first lessons in life my parents taught me is that life isn't fair and I'm sorry, but those who provoke are going to face more scrutiny, and that IS fair.

but the large majority of these people have not provoked anything . You seem like a reasonable person. We have people on this site .. who think all Muslims are out the get them . The stance that I take that all Muslim are not out to get them ...scared them and they think that I must be a Muslim too. I just been in a topic with about 7 people talking about how Islam if the devil and GOD would want us to bomb the f*ck out of some Muslims. These people I could understand thinking that we should watch Muslims . However you seem like a person who understand that all muslims don;t want to kill us. So why should innocent people be profiled for the actions of others ?

Let me clarify. When I say certain groups should be watched more than others, I mean specific groups. Muslims are in that category. It's not about ethnicity, as if in, "because they are Muslim", but it is about HISTORY, history of their ACTIONS. Just because they happen to be Muslim does not make it about race. They have a history of provocation.
It is also about CULTURE and LOYALTY as well. Culture is a broad spectrum of things including the arts, language, biology, ect.... If a culture as a whole has proven to be violent against Americans, then they need to be watched. It is not a stretch to then take it a step further and say that if they are not Americans themselves, and they are from a country with proven historical hostilities against Americans, then they are likely to be LOYAL to their home country and therefore need to be scrutinized more than others. So, I don't think ALL Muslims want us dead but I do think that based upon their ACTIONS, HISTORY, CULTURE and LOYALTIES they are more prone to acts of violence and should be profiled. And hell yes, if it comes between me and them, I'd bomb the crap out of them too! We've earned our slice of paranoia in this country.

There ARE some who will stop at nothing to destroy this country and currently it isn't the crazy white guy in the theater, nor even the guy that shot Gabby Giffords...one look at either of them and you know they're nuts. The justification you use seems like of lot of the same justification that those people you are in fear of use to justify their actions . You know how many innocent people who have never taken up arms to hurt America have died do to our actions. We have supported Monster in the area just for our gain. So does that mean those people have a right think it would be a good thing to bomb the hell out of us . I don't think so .

Someone comes into your home and rapes your wife...what do you do? Are you going sit there and try and have to have a calm, rational discussion with that person, explaining why they shouldn't rape your wife? A pit bull lunges wildly at your child...are you going to wait to see if your child can engage the dog in a game of fetch first? DEFENSE of ones self is a natural human right and you don't always have a choice or time to have a nice conversation about it. And no, those innocent people didn't die due to OUR actions, unfortunately they died due to the actions of those who drew first blood. It's not like we haven't tried diplomacy for as long as I can remember. And that's at least 30+ years. It's not the first attack, won't be last and we are entitled to defend ourselves.
  • Joey boredco... 2012/09/12 00:45:49
    Joey
We are the people who draw first blood. We have done thing in in the middle. As early as 1953 we have sent agents in the middle east taking out leader who we did not like .. and who did not attack us. Everything that you are using could be used to justify the actions of the terrorist . And It does not fly no matter what said you are one. So if you want to blame the people who draw first blood .. There you have it was us .

I still say a violent unjustified threat is a threat that needs to be dealt with. If you can restrain the rapist, good for you, if he is killed in self defense, that is he who took the risk. And so if you insist upon blaming America, what is your proposed solution?
  • Joey boredco... 2012/09/12 01:34:58

I only blame America if I go by your own terms of who drew first blood. However I do not live by that motto. Each person is reasonable for what they do .

That is not all I said I have said. I have said all along that there are should be what I consider reasonable benchmarks for dealing with terrorists. I think we have more than met them and well exceeded them so if you disagree, that is certainly your prerogative. So, in the mean time, what are you going to do about the rapist violently attacking your wife or the pit bull lunging wildly at your child?
  • Joey boredco... 2012/09/12 01:57:43
    Joey
I would stop those rapist and the Dog. I would not for ever more be scared of all man or all dogs. And I would never go into the pound that pitt bull came and kill dogs that had nothing to do with what happen.
  • boredco... Joey 2012/09/12 02:07:19

Good to hear. I am not afraid of all men nor all dogs...not even most. I have two herding dogs, it is in their nature to herd. Nothing I can do will ever remove that drive from their instincts. Some people are like that. It is always good to stay alert and be aware of your surroundings because herding dogs nip and terrorists kill. That being said, it has been an interesting conversation. I am tired because I am sick as a proverbial dog and don't know how I lasted this long anyhow.

But I will tell you what I told Joey, when I say certain groups should be watched more than others, I mean specific groups. I told him Muslims because that is what he was specifically referring to in the context of that post. If these groups you listed have a HISTORY, ACTION, CULTURE and LOYALTY to terrorist activities, then hell yeah, DEFINITELY need to be watched and profiled. I'm guessing they are all klan groups of some type?

Edit: I reread it where I had just grazed that list before, it is clearly klan groups.

There are many Klan groups, but I listed the Klan & the rest are all independent of the Klan.
They are white hate groups against just about anything/one. In America, there are really only two non-white hate groups: Black Panthers & Muslim Brotherhood.
Most of the hate in America is from white men who are full of fear.

    Yup.
...& pretty freakin' accurate. Notice that the majority of all terrorism & assassinations in the US are by white men... & all because they are either afraid of not getting something they want or losing something they've got. During the racial strife in the US, it was white men afraid of sharing, well, basically everything... but particularly power. Now, it's white men afraid of pretty much the same thing from Hispanics & those Muslims of Arabic descent. Fear is probably the biggest motivator humans have. It's why it's used to control masses of people.

    Of course they do.
It's just that white men have done just about all the damage in our nation... since its inception. It started with the systematic destruction of as many Native American nations as possible, continued with African slavery & the deplorable treatment of the Chinese, continued through the detainment of the Japanese & now with the legal imprisonment of Hispanics... all of this legitimized through the legislative process.

Fear: one hell of a powerful weapon.
