Very true. Thanks for the clarification. I know, it's easy to forget sometimes when thinking about two candidates in an election, that they are usually not the only ones. :)

George W. Bush is losing big-time in this poll. with negative 28 votes against Al Gore's positive 16.

I wonder if the actual election would have looked similar if we had been given the right to express ourselves more accurately in the voting booths.

Best I can tell he didn't win at all but rather had the presidency bought for him and handed over to him by people who went through a lot of trouble to cheat on his behalf... then what happened next was even worse.

Had to narrow it down to 10 though, of course, since that's the most I could get the poll to accept... but that's why I went with a dual-vote system. Going with a single vote system reduces the choices even more when including the negative vote option. Made a compromise for the 2004 election simulation poll.

Unfortunately a great many people "just didn't vote" for exactly the same reason, and nobody will ever know just how many... but I did survery people while I was helping the Kerry campaign so I have a pretty good idea. Helping the Kerry campaign was my way of casting a vote against George W. Bush because I knew it was the only chance at keeping him from getting a second term.

I wish we had been given the right to vote against someone before George W. Bush cheated his way into the first term.

Yeah.... and in some people's cases 20/20 foresight. Unfortunately, those of us who saw the real problem, how ever many or few there were, didn't manage to prevent what we saw coming. I suppose we figured Gore was popular enough to win in spite of the flaws in the system... and he was... but not quite enough to win in spite of the flaws AND the opposition cheating!

Yeah, just imagine. I'm surprised that the Canadians haven't elected him as Prime Minister yet. I've had lots of them tell me they're going to elect Barack Obama as their Prime Minister if our people are too stupid to elect him as our president. I wonder if the fact that he was born in the United States might cause them a little difficulty in the process... but even if it does, they sounded pretty determined. :)
