I have had one split write-in on another poll... I counted it as a half vote for each of the two.
Ideally, if two votes are cast they should each get a half-vote value whether they're both for, both against, or one for and one against. I just wanted to keep it simple, that's all.
Where I would really like to see it though is in an actual election.

Care to say why you would vote against Barack Obama?
You mentioned not knowing where he stands on things... any specific things? I might just happen to know and be able to tell you... although why people support him usually tends to have less to do with where he stands on the standard issues than on his skills in such things as communication problem solving, diplomacy, leadership, planning, and so on.
People also tend to like that he actually understands what life is like for the rest of us and really cares about not just the big issues but about life in general and how to make it better for all of us. And that's another thing... that he actually does understand that life is not a zero sum game, and understands how to make real change happens. He also understands that each of us has value as a human being and not just a constituent with a vote.
