TV shows about US politics are a constant these days and now that election season is in full swing, you’re bound to find your share of political news as you surf through the channels. Curious to understand how scripted shows about politics are perceived, we surveyed 1,152 Americans to find out if they view these small screen portrayals as reflective of what’s really going on in DC.

As far as the credibility of scripted shows about politics, just 35% agree that these shows “generally portray US politics accurately.” In a related vein, over half (55%) concur that these shows tend to focus “more on character relationships than politics and current events.”

When considering the moral character of TV politicians, as you’ll see below, that’s up for debate.

Whether you’re looking to survey people who use a specific media source to stay up to date on current events or are simply seeking of-the-moment insights on a timely topic, we’d love to assist you!
