Tea Party
The Tea Party is a political movement that emerged in 2009 out of grassroots protests against the federal stimulus package, bank bailouts, the growing national debt and the economic recession. The movement's primary concerns are cutting back the size of government, decreasing government spending, lowering taxes, and adhering to the U.S. Constitution. The movement has no central leadership but is a loose affiliation of smaller local groups. Notable Tea Party representatives include Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell.
