Nostradamus or Nostradumbass?

Astor October 23, 2007 23:41:41

Considering his cult following over the ages why do people still believe him when hasn't predicted anything.

You can't predict anything that has already happened. Or can you.

No, he really is a Nostradumbass.

I've watched enough episodes of "The Jetsons" to know that people are notoriously bad at predicting the future.

If anyone could, why are they not investing in the stock market and making a fortune? Or picking winning lottery tickets? Why not just use their ability of foresight instead of writing down cryptic things to be interpretted later?

And I thought I was the only one who called him that.

If anyone gives him any credit, his biggest prediction was false. He predicted the world was going to end in 1999. Well, we're still here.

From what I know about his predictions, they are so vague that any one can make them mean what they want.

No, he really is a Nostradumbass.

It seemed that anything he "predicted" close to his time was something to think about, but the more he started predicting things in our time, the less true he seemed to be on things. hrm....could it be because he was making it all up?!?!
ANYONE can put meaning into something someone writes about the furture. If you write something using very colorful words and sentaces that can be left to interpretation, you can make someone believe that aliens are going to land in their backyard next year in Dec.

I haven't seen enough examples that he can predict the future any more than he cannot predict the future.
