I didn't make this up. I have a strong loyalty to MySpace. But I read an article that paints a gloomy picture picture for MySpace's future:
"Facebook’s visitor growth mushroomed by 153%, compared to a paltry 3% annual growth for what was once acknowledged as its top competitor, MySpace."

MySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
A lot of people I talk to switched to facebook and are hardly ever on my space anymore . My response is:I'm not on either hardly ever because I spend all my time on sodahead! LOLView thread

MySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
Come on, this is America, we divorce a spouse for a 'fresh start,' hurting children we love, what chance does an internet site have?
MySpace will continue its dominance
Myspace is good... but not warm like SodaHead!

its email to the hundredth power!
the only reason facebook grew is because a lot of myspacers were curious about how facebook grows.
about a year ago, all my friends started getting a facebook account, but cuz other people were getting it. and i followed lol.
i go on there like once a week, and so does everyone else i know, except for a few people.
so myspace will continue to grow.
i think that article was looking at the number of "your network" people thing on your homepage. and it says something like 240 million, and about a year ago it was at like 220 million i think, not realizing that myspace changed that thing. now it just shows the number of people that tom is friends with. and not realizing that the number of accounts is actually at well 400 million. which would mean that myspace grew from 220 million to 400 million in one year, which would mean that it grew like 80%???
i love myspace. ha
thank you fef!!!
Well said with that.

I use both MySpace and Facebook ~ but for 2 very different reasons: I keep in touch with my friends through Facebook; and I use MySpace for collecting music/bands that I would otherwise have never heard on the airwaves; and indulging in my fantasies, desires and other 'underground' debauchery..
Maybe it won't so much as die out, but will go to a particular user group..
That, or the marketing just isn't working as well as it used to be.
A lot of people seem to have become quite disillusioned with MySpace as well, for reasons that I don't know..
