MySpace the Next Friendster: Will the social networking site lose its dominance?

"Facebook’s visitor growth mushroomed by 153%, compared to a paltry 3% annual growth for what was once acknowledged as its top competitor, MySpace."

MySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
I don't think it will ever fade out completely but it has already lost its dominance with people I know.. Facebook will take the crown soon.... and SodaHead soon after.. .hhahahahahaMySpace will continue its dominance
Eww. Facebook is gay.MySpace will continue its dominance
myspace is like mtv... no matter how corny it gets, there's no denying it's impact and continued relevance... it's synonymous with the paradigm shift of how we interact and how media is shared in today's new world....Undecided
Where's the "neither" or "None of the Above" option? That really should be checked by defult.... and have to be cleared if someone doesn't want it.Anyway... Less growth than Facebook is still growth. They may not remain in the top position, but that doesn't in any way mean they are necessarily going under... especially if there is still growth.

Facebook will level off and eventually peter out just like Myspace is starting to do. I think a ton of new people are joining myspace, it's just losing a ton of existing users at the same time. Eventually the new users will diminish and myspace will become no-one's space. Facebook will do the same. Eventually something new will replace them both, and so on.MySpace will continue its dominance
alot of people have myspace....and i doo ..and every new person i meet always say they have myspace...[put iit dis way..who doesnt have myspace.???]
Don't have facebook either.

I've never been to Facebook, but I know the kids love it. I think I check my Myspace profile once a month or so, but I'm too busy checking happenings on this cool site! ;-)Undecided
I'm not sure. I use both. I prefer myspace. I keep myspace open all day at work. I have met some great people on myspace. I check my facebook maybe once every six months. I have had a myspace account for 3 years and will continue to use it.MySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
that really depends if other "frendsters" start receiving more people on their sites, if facebook or something starts finding a wider network and they slowly are so actually i think they will start to fade out, but i still love myspaceUndecided
MySpace will have to evolve - and not just steal Facebook's ideas, but enable people to something different. Only then will they survive long term.Undecided
In the business world everything comes and everything goes.Undecided
With the multiple changes in technologies over the past few years and the expansion of communication it may come to fruition that computers become obsolete. Who knows, but it's pretty set at this present timeMySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
After I discovered SH, Myspace was just boring... lol.And facebook sucks.
Everything is confusing and stupid.
I sat there fighting pirates and ninjas for like 10 minutes.
When I was done, I said... "this is just stupid... "
hehe :)

MySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
The internet has proven over and over again that it is fluid, trends come and go very quickly. Perfect examples of this in the past are Netscape, which gave way to IE, which in turn is rapidly giving way to Firefox. ICQ was overtaken by MSN and Yahoo IM, and now Skype is coming on strong. Yahoo used to be the dominant search engine, until Altavista came along... then some young upstart called Google showed up.The point is, this is nothing new, and it applies to both websites and software. The internet is still in the wild west phase, and will continue this way for some time to come.

you can't expect to be on top forever...it was a nice runMySpace "Friendstered" and will fade out
I think Myspace is already starting to fade out. I don't think it will ever become obsolete, but you don't hear nearly as many people talking using their myspace anymore. Almost everyone i talk to, talks about facebook instead.Undecided

I think they will continue to dominate BUT I have noticed that Facebook has had many new people signing up!!! Yikes...I smell competition !!Undecided
I find Myspace boring it's not like this site where you have real interaction with other people....this place seems to be better suited for socializing and sharing of thoughts and ideas with other people.
