France Beats U.S. at Eating and Sleeping

- It's no secret that U.S. residents work hard, vacation infrequently, and struggle to get a good night's sleep.

The French have less of a problem with all this. Their biggest concern seems to be finding enough time to eat, sleep and squeeze in a little leisure.     It seems like Americans are so caught up with keeping up with the Joneses that we sometimes forget how to enjoy life. We're only on this earth for a small amount of time. We could learn a thing or two from the Europeans. They know how to take it easy and yet you don't see their country in shambles. It's possible to make ends meet and have fun!

    I'm sure if you measured the level of satisfaction among the French, it would be higher, too. It's amazing what not stuffing McDonalds down your gullet every day will do for you. Maybe, just maybe, having more leisure time relaxes people, and allows them to sleep better...

    Oh, but damn that "socialism"! Goodness knows we can't be bothered to *help* our neighbors rather than beat them at something.

    Yeah, eating and sleeping.... maybe that's all that's left when you become socialists. Guess with Obama's entitlement programs, not to mention the fact....that very few jobs have been created from stimulus (certainly not the goal amount)....and even a lot of the money's going to states that don't need it as badly as some that are really suffering worse, gee, hmmmm...guess boning up for a life of "eating and sleeping", courtesy of a minority of workers and businessmen who actually work should be the new trend America needs to work toward now, eh?

Please, the French rank right up there on the congeniality scale with Puerto Rican housewives and Pakistani cab drivers.     I big think about France and other European countries is that despite their indulging of fine food....they WALK so much more than we do! If Americans would just walk as much as the French, we, too, may be thinner...Also, I've read the French don't snack as we do.

    France does not pay the poorest people to have more children.

    They keep losing manufacturing work to China and Eastern Europe too. Probably that trend will accelerate now that French Unions are kidnapping bosses for "negotiations".

    I love France but just shake my head at how they run their country.
