Die, Humans! Is Mother Nature Sick of Us?

- According to James Lovelock's new book "The Vanishing Face of Gaia: A Final Warning," humanity is "Earth's infection" and mother nature may be trying to shake us just like the flu.

While in theory it would be extremely difficult to truly destroy this planet, it's not such a stretch for some scientists to imagine us making it a place that doesn't support humans. The planet would go on, the thinking goes, but it'd get rid of us much like we shake the flu.

Lovelock's thinking is that our increasing presence is getting things so out of whack that, in the manner of a human immune system, the planet has no choice but to respond. "There is nothing humans can do to reverse the process; the planet is simply too overpopulated to halt its own destruction by greenhouse gases. In order to survive, mankind must start preparing now for life on a radically changed planet." ... Read full article »

Mother Nature is sick and tired of the human race polluting her earth, her rivers and her atmosphere, destroying the planet. Earth is revolting against against the onslaught that is poisoning her.

    NATIVE AMERICAN PROPHECY

American Indians are a diverse ethnic group. Their languages, customs, social systems varied greatly. One common characteristic found in many Indian nations was an affinity to the spiritual side of life. Out of this came man prophecies.

One of the most fascinating set of prophecies comes out of the Hopi nation located in the Southwestern United States. Many prophecies foretold by the Hopi appear to have come true. Some of these are:

"The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left.

"This is the First Sign: We are told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana men who took the land that was not theirs. And men who struck their enemies with thunder.

"This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In his youth, my father saw this prophecy come true with his eyes -- the white men bringing their families in wagons across the prairies."

"This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. These White Feather saw with his eyes -- the coming of the white men's cattle."

"This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron."

"This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web."

"This is the Sixth sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun."

"This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it."

"This is the Eight Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like my people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn their ways and wisdom.

"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease.

"These are the Signs that great destruction is coming. The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle against other people in other lands -- with those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as White Feather has seen the white man make in the deserts not far from here. Only those which come will cause disease and a great dying.

Overall, the theme of Hopi prophecy is that the Earth is going to soon go through a great purification and that humanity can make the decision as to how extreme this purification will be. Their belief is that the world goes through a period of destruction and renewal and that we are about to enter into a new age, the 5th world (or 6th depending upon the source).

Yes, but don't you want to give future children a chance to live on a planet that isn't dying from all the plastics we fill the dumps with, all the waste, and garbage we put into the enviornment.

With just a small amount of thinking we can help save the earth for others to enjoy.

Oh man, you've fallen into the Kool Aid. Why isn't Al Gore doing his part, by living in a tent yet? When I was a kid it was that we were causing the next Ice Age. Can't you see these people have an agenda, and it's money. We as Americans can't stop 'global warming'. We live on earth with a billion other people, unless we get every country on the planet to abide by our standards(not gonna happen), our changes will be at the most minimal to stop 'global warming'. This is such a farce. Why doesn't Gore donate the 100 Million he's made through is 'green' company to save the planet. Why hasn't he given up his mansion and SUV'S, private jets, etc, to the greater cause. Why can't he live the lifestyle of us regular Americans in a 1300 sq ft home? We are doing less to contribute to global warming than his elitist lifestyle.

I am talking to you about your attitude, not Al Gore. I am talking about each of us making the planet a better place for however long the planet will be here.

An idea starts with one person and if one person does a few things to keep the planet cleaner and healthier it is a help, and when others follow we see improvements. Kinda like cleaning a neighbors trashy property; it improves it and encourages others to follow suit. I've seen it happen.

You can't say that I will do nothing because Germany is doing nothing. That is a cop out so you go ahead and complain and make excuses but the facts are the facts.

How does it NOT bother a person like you, whose obviously so passionate about saving the planet, that the Al Gores of the green movement aren't practicing what they preach??? Why is it that THEY still pollute the environment with their private jets, SUV'S and luxurious 20,000 sq ft' homes, to 'spread the word' about our planet 'dying' to lecture to people like me, who live in a 1500 sq ft' home with 5 people who are trying to conserve to just pay my bills?????

I am not responsible for anyone's actions but my own. I was putting my groceries in cloth bags for years before it became popular in the states and attempt to do my best though I sometimes will by a pop in a plastic bottle when I know better but I can only make people aware of the little things we each can do to help our planet for future generations.

Some people talk the talk but don't walk the walk. Al Gore may be passionate in his thinking, but he doesn't follow through because it's inconvenient to him. He makes the money talking and we make the planet better by doing. Isn't that always the way it is.

I just hope some of the people that pay to hear him speak take his words to heart instead of saying "Well Al Gore doesn't do anything to save the planet so why should I."

Al Gore is killing your cause. People are sick and tired of being told to do one thing by the gov't and the green activist and then seeing them do another. Those are the people who need to walk the walk. But they won't because it's 'inconvenient' for THEM. It's like an OBVIOUS alcoholic trying to tell someone who doesn't drink, the dangers of drinking????

Exactly. That's what I said, these guys make money on informing of us on things we pretty much know, and it is we who are trying to be better to the planet, and they who are not.

With the money Gore and others have they could afford to put solar panels, etc in their homes and it wouldn't kill them to fly commercial and drive economic cars, etc. I am in total agreement with that.

Al Gore and the others should let a few of us follow them everywhere for a month and grade them..Wouldn't you like to do that..I would.

What a silly question to ask. Of course I do. We have become more eco friendly in the past decades than we ever where. During the Industrial Revolution we must have been 'killing' the planet back then too, but we're still here. When I was a teen 30 yrs ago, we were causing the next Ice Age. This is all politically motivated, and your falling for it.
AGAIN, why isn't the Al Gore's of the world leading by example, IF they truly believed we were in dire danger? Please just answer that question, because Im curious why you follow what these people say and tell you how you should live, but they don't do the same.

If enviornmentalists are the ones predicting or diagnosing this "flu" then I think we've all gotten the message. We will be thrown off or must change our ways which means going back to nature. That leaves us living with horses and buggy's as our alternate mode of transportation, dirt streets, caravaning on any trip over 500 miles away, poop in the streets, our poop buried, no manufacturing because it pollutes so bring back those spinning wheels and loomes, learn how to knit, no air conditioning in summer, no heating in winter, haul your water and wash clothes in the closest river or creek, and allow all animals to live in their natural habitat without hindering them. And food choices will be sharply reduced, and probably not as fresh. Say goodbye to all those delicacies you enjoy like potato chips, frozen meals, etc. I could go on based on all that we are told is polluting our planet. However, we can be thankful that we have a God who created us with wonderful brains which produced so many wonderful things, took us to space, produced medicines that work, etc. And He placed us on the earth, gave it ot us as a gift "to work it and take care of it". He made all of it available to us (well, except for one tree, but that's another story where we messed up) for our enlightenment and benefit. And He is still watching over us and will take care of us in His good time. No questions asked or time to contemplate. Hallelujah!

"No questions asked or time to contemplate. Hallelujah!"

So, God gives us "wonderful brains," but we shouldn't question his plans or contemplate our part in them?

All good suggestions. Yes, that would be good. At least a start. But no God does not grant all when you haven't put in anything. God does not exist as a man in the sky. God is Nature and if you really feel close to god I think that's incredible because we have pushed away all of creation and called ourselves God. That's not the same as loving or being close to something/one. That's like identity theft and not even to our benefit because we terribly suck at it.

You are wrong. Because we now have the technology to use these things more wisely if we will only do it.
The chips and frozen containers of food aren't wonderful things. And just because God gave us the brains to produce things doesn't mean he doesn't want us to use what we know wisely.

Don't blame God because people are to lazy to cook and would rather open a cardboard frozen meal, not use the technology to make houses that use less energy, cars that use less energy..

Nope, we whine that we want big cars, quick food and the heck with the amount of garbage the containers make. It is us who wants new things every year instead of making due with the things we already have that still work. Tell someone your cell phone is 4 years old and they look at you like you are insane. Must have a new one every 6-12 months and who cares that the old one are taking up space in a land fill with all the cardboard, plasics, functioning sofas that we could have used another 10 years except for the fact that we saw something prettier the other day...

No don't blame God for our ignorance and selfishness.

Only Jesus the Christ has sway over Man on the Erth. Ever notice how all the animals has a sort of sameness. This is why man is so different.
