Die, Humans! Is Mother Nature Sick of Us?

- According to James Lovelock's new book "The Vanishing Face of Gaia: A Final Warning," humanity is "Earth's infection" and mother nature may be trying to shake us just like the flu.

While in theory it would be extremely difficult to truly destroy this planet, it's not such a stretch for some scientists to imagine us making it a place that doesn't support humans. The planet would go on, the thinking goes, but it'd get rid of us much like we shake the flu.

Lovelock's thinking is that our increasing presence is getting things so out of whack that, in the manner of a human immune system, the planet has no choice but to respond. "There is nothing humans can do to reverse the process; the planet is simply too overpopulated to halt its own destruction by greenhouse gases. In order to survive, mankind must start preparing now for life on a radically changed planet." ... Read full article »

Mother Nature is sick and tired of the human race polluting her earth, her rivers and her atmosphere, destroying the planet. Earth is revolting against against the onslaught that is poisoning her.

    NATIVE AMERICAN PROPHECY

American Indians are a diverse ethnic group. Their languages, customs, social systems varied greatly. One common characteristic found in many Indian nations was an affinity to the spiritual side of life. Out of this came man prophecies.

One of the most fascinating set of prophecies comes out of the Hopi nation located in the Southwestern United States. Many prophecies foretold by the Hopi appear to have come true. Some of these are:

"The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left.

"This is the First Sign: We are told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana men who took the land that was not theirs. And men who struck their enemies with thunder.

"This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In his youth, my father saw this prophecy come true with his eyes -- the white men bringing their families in wagons across the prairies."

"This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. These White Feather saw with his eyes -- the coming of the white men's cattle."

"This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron."

"This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web."

"This is the Sixth sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun."

"This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it."

"This is the Eight Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like my people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn their ways and wisdom.

"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease.

"These are the Signs that great destruction is coming. The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle against other people in other lands -- with those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as White Feather has seen the white man make in the deserts not far from here. Only those which come will cause disease and a great dying.

Overall, the theme of Hopi prophecy is that the Earth is going to soon go through a great purification and that humanity can make the decision as to how extreme this purification will be. Their belief is that the world goes through a period of destruction and renewal and that we are about to enter into a new age, the 5th world (or 6th depending upon the source).

Ironically, I just got done saying something in a different place that is relevant here. So very relevant.

But first, we have a place here. We belong on Earth and for a time Earth loved us, needed us, used us, and we in turn loved used and needed the Earth. But that time has long since passed. Now, yes, we have mutated and reproduced at such a rapid rate that we are like a virus. We're everywhere, and we've denied our proper function and place here on the planet Earth. We have become destructive to our surroundings and our ecosystem like a disease, rather than a functioning part of a whole.

    We've forgotten our place.

And I'd actually like to bring the Bible into this, as is the relevant bit I mentioned earlier. No, I do not believe in some all-seeing sky god. However, I do believe that the authors of the Bible had a vital message to deliver, and they did so very well, they spread the message. But it, like any great piece of fiction, ended up obscuring its own truth from us almost indefinitely.

The Bible is the story of the humans deceit, and turning away from Nature, the one source of life and sustenance. It is the story of how we turned our backs to our rightful and proper place within the forever and all-seeing intelligent, all-encompassing eye of Nature. No matter how w...

No matter how we romanticize it, Nature is the supreme force, there is no God (not the way the Christians see it - this force - anyhow), and we have turned our backs on God even if there was one.

The Bible is a warning to us as children of the Earth. If we continue to deny our rightful place in Nature, it will be our ultimate destruction. You're right - it is not about the destruction of the world, just the destruction of the world as we know it. The world will live on. It is US who will die. It is us who will disappear off this map and Nature, forever prevalent, will devise a new species that will hopefully do our job better.

And our job, our place, wasn't that hard. It wasn't that unpleasant. Things have been getting worse for everyone since we decided to remove ourselves from Nature, as if there was any other place for us. Think of the story of Adam and Eve. They had everything. They wanted more, and so God "cast them out of the Garden". God didn't cast us out.

We decided we didn't want to live in accordance with natural law, and because Nature rules and Nature writes the coding, it didn't want to work for us by our rules. We don't get to make the fucking rules but for the past few centuries we damn well have been trying to tell Nature how it should function. We are out of line. Nature sees and feels it. And yes, Nature has had enough time to devise a plan to get rid of us - us the part that is no longer needed.

The only way to save ourselves is to stop. Now. Go back to our place in Nature, where we were needed, and see if that place is still accepting and open to us. Otherwise, yes, we will be wiped off the face of the Earth like the scum we have become.

Part of me refuses to believe we can't go back because I yearn for that.. yearn for that and green rolling hills and a real purpose. Not the non-purpose of a life of lost wanderers. We might as well be nomads in space. But I don't see that either.

According to this article, the planet is going to change. We might not survive, at least not all of us. We'll have to see who or what the planet favors. But I believe that the efforts to change and be good to the Earth are still all-important. If we curb our horror right now and get to work, get right on it, then at least maybe the planet will not change so drastically. Maybe it will still support some life. (human life) As I said before, it is only the world as we know it that will change.

Hey, there's more chance of earthly destruction from a huge meteorite or asteroid. Something we really have no control over. That should frighten us more.

God can and will provide if we all let him; but we don't and there are a lot of folks that are absolutely terrible stewards either through slothness, or greed.

The exact attitude that got us in this mess. If our ancestors weren't so fuck-tarded, we wouldn't be dealing with this now.

That is true to a small degree. They didn't know any better. But we now know buying pop and water everyday in plastic containers, and all the pesticides to make our lawns look good, etc is damaging our planet quicker than it ever has. Just look around your house at all the containers and junk we each accumulate unlike previous generations.

We have become the garbage collectors and dumpers who know better.

Yeah, how's that attitude working for ya?? You sound so happy. You do realize that using the word f..k-tarded is a run off of the R word which is 'offensive' to you liberals?

Don't round me up. I'm not liberal. I'm even beyond libertarian! HA! And you're right, I'm not happy. The world sucks and is full of dumb-fucks. There, is that better?

Do you have any clue how silly you sound? You sound like you don't know what you stand for. Do you even know what Libertarian means? If your world does sucks, it's because of your own choices.

I'm beyond libertarian. I try not to label myself but that is the closest political group that I fit in. I am more liberal than a libertarian. Meaning I do not fit strictly into their category. And I do know what I stand for, but it is forever evolving and changing. I am not going to limit myself by having to embody any pre-conceived notion.

Just because the word Libertarian sounds like the being of Liberal, doesn't mean your a Libertarian! If your more of a Liberal, than you come no where near the beliefs of a Libertarian. In laymen terms....basically a Liberal wants the gov't to run the whole show.....Libertarians basically want as much minimal gov't involvement as possible. You've got the 2 confused.

Did you understand what I said? Maybe it wasn't clear. First, I do not ultimately believe in labels... green republican democratic liberal libertarian... they are all boxes, if you will... all costumes and not my real face. We are individuals and will never fit readily into any one category. By liberal I mean of liberty. I wish for even more liberty than a libertarian, and apparently, they are as far left as you can get in this country, via political perspectives. And yet their goals seem to me like the first rung on a ladder, where my dream goal is more like... well, like the last or second to last rung. Which means I believe in true and complete, utter freedom, of course with a community that works together to create a sustainable world and that is run by direct democracy, where every vote counts, either as consensus or majority rule. A bit extreme, compared to minds that are still framed within this political fiasco's infrastructure. And I still believe the system is flawed and that no one man can rule... how can one human represent All? The voting system is indirect and faulty. The politicians are greedy and corrupt and separate from the will of the people. I do not adhere to any label... my statement was I am even more extreme than a libertarian, though I am not an anarch...

Just as others cannot truly be labeled and shouldn't be labeled... which is why I often try and ask people what they believe rather than what they are. Don't be confused by the changing masks that cover our true faces, and labels that keep us from ever having to think for ourselves. Be your own person, please, and realize that I too am individual and like no one else... hence, it doesn't matter what you call me or try to package me as.. it doesn't change what I believe. I also believe we all have much more in common than we realize and ultimately these labels are just divisive.

Your diatribe is exhausting and frankly boring. With all due respect, you sound very young, naive and confused as to what you stand for. A Libertarian is more liberal than a Liberal?? With age comes wisdom(for some), hopefully you'll be one who acquires wisdom.

LOL!!!! I just checked your profile, and I was right you are young. So in your 20 short years of life, you think you have more 'wisdom' than those of us who have been there and done that? Remember, we were all your age once and felt in some way, the way you do now. Once you really grow up and understand how the world works, hopefully you'll feel different. Usually it takes the first time after college, when you get a real job, making good money and you open your paycheck, and wonder where the hell all the money you worked hard for went.

Have you ever heard of permaculture and sustainable communities. Times are a changin, grandma... we can both play that card. No longer must one be forced to specialize in one skill, sacrificing their well-rounded human abilities, to work in one job for the rest of their life. The monetary system is something that is not necessary to survive. There are people of all ages working for the same goal, albeit in small groups, but they don't have to live the way that you seem to think is the only course in life. That's sad for you.

LOL, Oh man, your clueless. Your views are funny, but sad at the same time, because you actually believe in them. And I just have to throw this in because you called me grandma......most of your generation looks hideous and overweight. There are more women my age who look younger and are in better shape than your generation. Your all so overweight and look years older than you really are. Muffin tops are not sexy!!
