Die, Humans! Is Mother Nature Sick of Us?
- According to James Lovelock's new book "The Vanishing Face of Gaia: A Final Warning," humanity is "Earth's infection" and mother nature may be trying to shake us just like the flu. While in theory it would be extremely difficult to truly destroy this planet, it's not such a stretch for some scientists to imagine us making it a place that doesn't support humans. The planet would go on, the thinking goes, but it'd get rid of us much like we shake the flu.
Lovelock's thinking is that our increasing presence is getting things so out of whack that, in the manner of a human immune system, the planet has no choice but to respond. "There is nothing humans can do to reverse the process; the planet is simply too overpopulated to halt its own destruction by greenhouse gases. In order to survive, mankind must start preparing now for life on a radically changed planet." ... Read full article »

Mother Nature is sick and tired of the human race polluting her earth, her rivers and her atmosphere, destroying the planet. Earth is revolting against against the onslaught that is poisoning her.
NATIVE AMERICAN PROPHECY
American Indians are a diverse ethnic group. Their languages, customs, social systems varied greatly. One common characteristic found in many Indian nations was an affinity to the spiritual side of life. Out of this came man prophecies.
One of the most fascinating set of prophecies comes out of the Hopi nation located in the Southwestern United States. Many prophecies foretold by the Hopi appear to have come true. Some of these are:
"The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left.
"This is the First Sign: We are told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana men who took the land that was not theirs. And men who struck their enemies with thunder.
"This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In his youth, my father saw this prophecy come true with his eyes -- the white men bringing their families in wagons across the prairies."

"This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. These White Feather saw with his eyes -- the coming of the white men's cattle."
"This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron."
"This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web."
"This is the Sixth sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun."
"This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it."
"This is the Eight Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like my people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn their ways and wisdom.
"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease.
"These are the Signs that great destruction is coming. The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle against other people in other lands -- with those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as White Feather has seen the white man make in the deserts not far from here. Only those which come will cause disease and a great dying.
Overall, the theme of Hopi prophecy is that the Earth is going to soon go through a great purification and that humanity can make the decision as to how extreme this purification will be. Their belief is that the world goes through a period of destruction and renewal and that we are about to enter into a new age, the 5th world (or 6th depending upon the source). (more)

What do you think?
The earth and it's climate/catastrophes just happen.
Floods aren't trying to kill us.
Tornado's aren't either.
Nor earthquakes or hurricanes or drought or lightning.
Silly premise. Talk about a religion. My goodness.
And in 1798 British economist Thomas Malthus would shortly shock his contemporaries with the publication of An Essay on the Principle of Population-arguing that famine was inevitable because people were born at a faster rate than food could be produced. How did that one work out?
It is utter nonsense - just another half-baked excuse for a "scientist" trying to make a buck selling an alarmist book.
The tragedy is that as Greens become self parodying,. and cause economic hardship for people that their good works will fall by the wayside. We'll be back to the bad old days of heavy pollution and anyone who objects will be "one of those nature kooks".
We really are better off in many ways since pollution laws came into effect.
Nothing ruins a good idea like applying it too far. For example, this recent seizure of wealth under "Cap and Trade" that is being pushed into the House and Senate.
At some point in time people are going to quit sulking and start agitating. God help us then when the vengeance of the unwashed is unleashed upon the political class in the form of another 1994 "revolution".

Now, because people are so medicated there are new strains of diseases that are more powerful than what we've been shot up with. In addition, the chemicals in our foods are making us weaker. The way we tend to the food as it grows and yields perpetuates the cycle. It's like the earth is saying, "ahh haa! ahhhhh ha! Ya wanna taste the soup? There's no spoon." (from the movie Coming to America).
If you really believe that humans are a "problem" why are you still alive? If you do not believe that it is so why not suggest rational ways for people to get along better, besides shoving us back into the food chain?
a) It doesn't matter the source of the extermination, whether it was nature (i.e. hurricanes, tsunamis, etc.) or if it was man-induced (i.e. the holocaust), or a mix of both (i.e. the black plague). There was extermination of large amounts of people PERIOD.
b) I never said humans were a problem. It's the way in which we do things that CAUSE problems. Case in point: the food we eat. We chemically pollute the lands by using fertilizers so the food grows unnaturally fast and unnaturally huge. We pump up the animals with chemicals so they'll yield more meat. Many of the nutrients in grown foods are stripped and artificial *whatevers* which are usually chemicals, take the place of the natural ingredients. So, we eat all of this chemically enhanced food and I guess expect for NONE of it to affect us. That, on top of being annually vaccinated, I believe, sets us up for a bit of failure, because each time we turn around there's a new strain of some illness that is immune to what we've vaccinated ourselves with. So, that leads to new medicines, which mean higher doses, and in the meantime, some people (ranging from thousands to millions) become sick in some capacity. ... Oh Jesus FUCKING CHRIST, BILLY! You missed the points (i.e. there's more than one)! *Calmly* Let's review:

The most popular way is cancer, which wipes out countless millions per year.
c) Don't try to ask hypothetical, "slam dunk" questions unless you truly understand what's been written. I give you *attempt points*.
d) Why am I still alive? I don't get vaccinated. I eat vitamin rich, almost home-grown fruits and vegetables. I eat fresh food (free range). I rarely eat junkfood. I exercise. Drink plenty of water. Take natural supplements, fish oil, etc. etc. I rarely get sick. *wink* That's why I'm alive.... that, and God hasn't pulled my sheet music yet. (more)
