Countrywide CEO Executive Angelo Mozilo angered a lot of people when he accidentally hit the "reply" button instead of the "forward" button when referring to an email sent by a customer as 'disgusting.'
The customer was trying to ask for lower payment rates, as he was on the verge of losing his home of 16 years. Mozilo's reply was:
"This is unbelievable. Most of these letters now have the same wording. Obviously they are being counseled by some other person or by the Internet. Disgusting."
The reply was not meant for the customer's ears, but rather was meant to be forwarded to his colleagues.
Have you ever made the mistake of sending the wrong email to the wrong person?
