  • BINGO! It is Jonathan Edwards, a latter day Puritan and probably America's greatest theologian. I also very much enjoy reading other authors you allude to -- J. I. Packer, Luther, Calvin, Whitefield, and I've even read The Love of God by Bernard of Clairvaux. And I like Spurgeon, and John Owen and a lot of the other Puritans. Right now I'm almost through reading Stephen Charnock's The Existence and Attributes of God -- another great book. Among modern authors, some of my favorites are Packer, Sproul, Piper, and MacArthur, and I also get a lot out of Charles Swindoll, who is not a Calvinist.

We do have a rich heritage, don't we? I'm sorry about what you've been through with the Episcopal Church -- I remember hearing about that fiasco a few years back. That sort of thing is happening all over nowadays. God bless the Anglican Church in North America for holding fast to the truth and separating themselves when it became necessary.

  • Thank you for adding me! I like your page. I'm a Calvinist too! It looks like we read the same kinds of books and have a lot of heroes in common. Hey, do you recognize this guy? I'd probably have to say he's my favorite author.

  • Dang dude. I sure don't remember anything about guns or violence. Well, I haven't checked your profile so I will. Feel free to message me anytime and I hope to run across you on other posts. I don't keep track cause I'm really really non-partisan but I tend to lean away from stuff like Fox news kinda stuff and I have no TV so all I learn is on here. I prefer to learn intelligently from people who do their homework or can at least point me in the right direction to look for facts. I keep a dictionary and a translator in my bookmarks so I always know what a word means and I Google everything. I usually pull three or four random sites so that I can find what is truth. If they all say exactly the same thing I Google till I find an opposing view.

Well, it was good to meet you and as I said, I hope we run across each other on other posts.

  • Sorry, I tried to edit this on your question, and I couldn't re-post.

Playlist.com provides a music player you can post on all of your social networking sites, has tons of music to add to your playlist, and is always free. Click the URL on Cilla's comment below. If you don't already have a playlist.com profile, you will have to open one. Again, it's free.

Create a playlist with music you like, and click the POST PLAYLIST link at the top of your playlist.com profile page. You will be prompted to make a few option selections. I selected the "post to Friendster" option, it seems to fit best my sodahead profile. I selected the "Play in random order" option so a different track plays when I open my SH profile. You can also choose a color for your player, or customize it.

After you have chosen these options, click the GET CODE link. Copy the code, and paste it in any unused box in your ABOUT ME section on your SH profile, and VIOLA!
