Hey... we all have to die sometime. My faith is in Jesus Christ. Death is not the end of my life but a transformation into the spirit world. (Which I hear is pretty sweet!)

I would never have to, as my faith does not lie in a promise of perfection and grants of all desires. I am not a part of Organized religion or of Abrahamic faith. THere is no such thing as fear in my Faith. I do not believe in a hell.

How could one do it? I mean, if you have faith and you tell someone you don't just to save a life....how is it possible to actually make that mentally real for yourself?

I would think that you would have to get brainwashed or hypnotized in order to forget faith. Even then, it would still probably shine through again eventually.

    I don't think it's possible.

It's easy to hold on to one's faith in the face of death in a hypothetical situation. Kind of like making threats over the internet. You're protected by distance.

We would all like to think that our faith is strong enough to endure to the end, but self-preservation is hardwired into everyone, and it is very hard to ignore that instinct in the moment of truth.

Your life would be over if you were willing to give up your faith for any reason.
You would end up in hell forever. Would it be worth it to gain a few days on earth, just to go to hell when you did die?

Were I to deny or dismiss my faith which is that once and for all times delivered unto the saints/elect of God I wouldn't be "saving" my life...I would simply be doing great injury to my temporal life and casting away my eternal one.

The body they may kill but the spirit liveth still so it's quite simply best to let goods and kindred go. this mortal life also.

I will never know until I am put in that situation. I would hope that my faith in Jesus would be enough to say yes.

No. This life is but a vapor, it is like going outside on a cold morning and exhaling. That fog soon vanishes and that is about how long this life is in comparison to eternity.

This life here now could also be compared to a baby in the womb. Our world is small and not really clear to us but in the next life the Bible tells us we will see clearly.

Giving up my faith in Jesus Christ is simply not an option as my faith is who I am since the old me has already died when I was born again.

Sin has hampered this world and each person individually. Only when we reach eternity in Heaven will we really begin to live and blossom as Christ intended.

Hell, it's the whole reason for existence. If not faith in God, faith in yourself. You lose either one you might as well be dead.

The real question is, would they know that i didn't believe if i said that i did?
As an atheist i would never conform to some stupid outdated mode of thinking.
I am not above deception, however i will never pretend to be a Muslim or that i believe in Allah.
Muslims kill non-believers and so they are my sworn enemy.
This is not by my choice but theirs.
So to save my life, it would be in my best interest to kill them first.

how do you know that because someone thinks differently than you do about their beliefs that it is stupid and outdated? someone could say the same for you being an atheist. That it is stupid and makes no sense.

Where did you ever get such an idea? Oh wait, you must be subscribing to that nonsense about evolution.
Never mind, nothing intelligent would come of such a conversation if that is your position.

Faith was before the first man was formed from the clay of the ground and has been a part of life ever since.

Yes, many people seem to have wonderful lives though they have no profession of faith in God, nor have they repented of their sins. However the bible makes it clear that such people are dead spiritually and their reward is to be found in this life ONLY.

notice that most christian who are strong in their faith would die for what they believe in because it makes so much sense to us that we want everyone to know what we believe and how amazing God is and most non-christian will give up their faith because to them life is more important but Jesus gave his life so we all can get to heaven through him. life is the 1st step, death is the 2nd and life in heaven is the 3rd and finally never ending place.
  • moetheg... concerned 5 days ago

If dying is so wonderful then everyone should commit suicide, medical advances should be stopped. Run over your kids kill your spouse, because being dead is so wonderful.

Death is so wonderful no one ever comes back to tell you how great it is!

Only the living tell you how wonderful death is! Pretty freakin' ironic!

And the next time you escape death or a close friend or relative does or survives a delicate operation make sure you don't say "Thank God!""

i never said death was good. the death part is tragic. then i think of where that person is going. and i can either rejoice or prey that God has mercy on their soul. There is no way that i am for pain and suffering. but guess what! God delivers us from pain and suffering by offering us a place by his side in Heaven. but this isnt about whether death is good or bad. this is about if you would die for your faith i was stating my opinion. what's pretty freakin ironic is that your faith focuses on life. but my faith focuses on life death and most importantly what comes after death. i would rather be with God then standing on earth, and i would die for my faith like cassie did when she said yes. she is now with God because she never gave up her faith.
