Question Religion

Would this mean God doesn't exist?

Twisted Jesse November 07, 2009 05:40:13

If their were other intelligent beings somewhere out in the universe wouldn't that kind of prove God doesn't exist? I would think so because if Jesus died for our sins who died for theirs? Or would they have their own bible with different books and a different Jesus?

prove first their existence before questioning God's existence..

only the humans are the intelligent beings created by God.,

The Bible says nothing about angels needing to be saved.

    Deuteronomy 29:29 (New International Version)
29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

Yes, other planets with life on them makes the Jesus myth look even more silly than it already does.

And if you count up the number of stars in the sky, it's pretty likely that there is some other planet where intelligent life evolved . . .

We don't need to find other intelligent beings "somewhere out in the universe" to know that God doesn't exist. There's already no proof that he does exist.

It's estimated that there are approximately 10,000 Earth like plants in just our galaxy.Given the number of galaxies in this Universe it would stand to reason that there is a lot of life out there. of course if a God created this Universe then it would have created all the life in it... it might not have made all that life the same. Maybe he made some species without sin. All speculation though. Personally I do not believe in the concept of sin or original sin. But it's fun to think about.

It depends on if they're as screwed up as we are.

Your logic is flawed you are assuming that our sin would apply to them. If they were sinners then they would need a savior, it is entirely possible God would provide. But why assume that they would be sinners? Why not instead assume that they resisted temptation and never experienced original sin, thus never breaching their relationship with the Father?

They would probably know the difference between 'their' 'there' and 'they're' at least.

God created all, including the universe, He is well aware of other intelligent beings, if there are other worlds, because he would have created them. Interesting movie called "Enemy Mine". Humans and aliens at war. One human, one alien crashed on uninhabited planet. Shorten the story by saying they became friends, learned to communicate. The alien was reading a book and when the human asked him to translate he started reading "In the beginning..." It was the Bible. God is not limited to earth as he created the entire universe.

Interesting question because if there is other life elsewhere, did they have their Eve who ate the forbidden fruit? Or did they not commit an original sin and live harmoniously with total love and worship of God, in which case God would be walking among them as he did with Adam in the Garden of Eden--in which case there would have been no need for the saviour to come and die for their sins that they may be saved. Or, was there a different original sin--without a forbidden fruit?? And if it were a perfect world, is Satan there also, as he is here, trying to inject evil into that civilization, lure the faithful from God?

Very, very interesting question. I would like to see other replies on this also. What massive possibilities--this could test the imagination to the hilt! Thank you Jesse.

Does it say anywhere in the bible that humans are the only sentient beings in the universe? Really, I don't know.

This is a question that can not be answered certainly. It all depends on what you believe. If you can believe there is other intelligent beings then you could say God doesn't exist but there are people who beleive so much in god that nothing will prove to them that he doesn't exist.
