This is not a Christian country - it's a country that protects the religious freedom of all people - Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Atheists, Wiccans, Agnostics, Hindus, Native Americans, Jews and the odd person down the street who worships his left toe.
About the Ten Commandments, I really don't care. As an example of moral law, they may have some venue relevance. But no Christian has a 'right' to their existence in that or any other hall of government.

A Ten Commandments monument outside an Oklahoma courthouse has been deemed discriminatory to non-Christians.
A federal appeal has ruled that the Ten Commandments unnecessarily advertise Christianity at the expense of other religions, including atheism.
The Oklahoma courthouse refuses to remove the monument of the Ten Commandments while Haskell County attorneys are asking that the case be taken to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Should the Ten Commandments be atheist-friendly?

If you don't like them then don't follow them.
Remember my religious freedom too.

I don't know if Christians follow the 10 Commandments. (So many Christians refute and reject the entire Old Testament!)
Regardless, the 10 Commandments are religious and have no place on Government property.
Church property and private property are proper places for religious monuments and symbols.
Not Mormon, Catholic, Islam, 7th Day Adventist, Buddhist, or any other religion can be forced on me. I have the freedom to worship or not worship however I choose.
Although many of the founding fathers were Christian, they deliberately made certain that our government could never impose any religion on Americans because they saw the abuses that came from government imposed religion.
Never has 'Protestantism' or 'Catholicism' or 'Islam' or 'Judaism' been an official religion in America.

And to anyone who thinks that there should be no separation of church and state, why don't we put up monuments like this at our government buildings? After all, America was founded on some values that are shared by Satanists. That means that America was founded on Satanist values.

It'll save multiple law suits.

The Commandments were dictated by God and just because we choose not to follow them does not give us the right to change them. We each choose our own path to follow and ultimately pay the price in the end.

"Commandment number one: Shut the Hell up
Commandment number two: I can't do anything about the Sun
Commandment number three: There are no more jolly ranchers, we are all out
Commandment number four: Do not read the billboards that we pass
Move out!"

Because People died is the reason you have freedom of speech whether it’s right or wrong.
God Bless you
