Yes it is true that we don't believe in homosexuality, but true Christians don't preach hate against any man. If you find someone that calls themself a Christian spouting these things then they are not doing what God truly called them to do.
While I speak against homosexuality, I do not say that God hates them or anything like that. I just say what the word of God says about any sin period, it is a sin.

Yes, Christian religions teach people to hate homosexuals
Yes i believe that there are many apostate churches out there who spread hate towards other sinners. These Churches do what is against Christs actual teaching, and chose to violently cleanse these people, or put their own shame and intolerance of their sins onto these people, who otherwise do not seek to harm them. Do i believe homosexuality is a sickness of the soul? Yes, I do. But do i promote, better yet, do i go out and seek to hurt these people? No. I do not and nor any other Christian - because we are all treacherous sinners in God's sight - have the right to punish any other sinner.
Refer to; Matt 7:1-5
I believe, that evil is being incorporated in these churches, and is steering these young minds way off of Christs course. If you are Christian, do not look at your brother and sister in disgust and think "Wow, he's really going to burn for his trespasses." But rather with your compassion and love for your brothers and sisters, pray for them and truly seek to bring them back to God.
Shame on those wolves, who disguise themselves in faux fur of the lamb, and do injustices in the name of their "god." Their god is not my god, for MY God, is Jesus Christ. The one who judges, forgives sins, and uses even the most horrib...

I am sorry for the injustices done to you all, your friends, and family. I pray that they find faith in the Lord, and that those "Christians" rethink who's creed their living by.
Amen, and God bless you all.

My Master taught me to love all men.

I do think that a few sensationalist commentators and authors should be held culpable for inciting the less stable of society to violence in a manner that almost seems intentional.

Yes, we should blame x-tian cults for hate crimes against all kinds of people.

Most Christian denominations DO NOT teach hatred, because that is not the Christian thing to do. I have several friends who belive it's a sin, but accept me because Jesus said Love the sinner, hate the sin. While I'm not saying that being gay is or is not a sin it's clear that even if it is, that's no excuse for hatred.

We do and should penalize people for their actions and/or for inciting violence against others. That is right and just.
Hate crime legislation is not necessary unless we wish to control what others think or say.

God does not hate homosexuals, people do.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:34-40)

-according to your last statement-
The gene may be turned on or off, thus the reality of straight and gay people.
Flip-Flopper. You are the one that needs to get your logic in order.
"There is no need for an actual straight gene, because it is the only way to be."
Wow! There sure seems to be a lot of gay people around, thus rendering your statement a certifiable falsehood.
Theres no gene for it.
If i decide to go to the grocery store at 11am, was that programed into my genes? No.
Being straight is a choice as are so many other things.
There is no gene for being straight.
Why, you could just decide to be gay the next time you go the the grocery store at 11 AM.
That's why you're such a homophobe -your weakness is that you might just as easily decide to be gay, as your decision to be straight is so very precarious...
Gene or no gene, your arguments are weak.

Yes, i believe that christianity's pervasive judgemenal attitudes pave create an environment where groups can be marginalized, demonized, and subsequently victimized.
watch out or you'll be 'ized next!
" 'the stone you builders rejected,

"god hates fags?" I don't think any christian group should ever stand behind the motto of hate. some do. they teach it to their children! (see above) that is wrong.
making fun of someone and telling them that god hates them are two entirely different things. period.
who cares about procreation?
i'll let someone else be the judge, thank you. not you. you're not here to give me or anyone else that choice, that's for sure.
is that Jesus' message? burn or not?
i don't think so.
that's what you get to say to congratulate yourself on mindlessly following your hateful beliefs without taking into account the happiness, rights, and acceptance of other HUMAN BEINGS.
don't be a mindless follower of a sadistic book.

Christians can, and sometimes do, misinterpret scripture and allow our personal opinions, and our actions, to be overshadowed by feelings. We're only human.
But I believe it a gross exaggeration, and a deliberate misinterpretation of the Bible to catagorize scripture as hate speech. Christians know the Bible to be the inspired and inerrant word of a loving God, given to us so that we will know how He wants us to live in obedience. Part of His instruction defines sin, and the eternal consequences of sin if we disobey. Recognizing and accepting God's sovereignty in our lives is not hate speech, it is obedience.
But God does not want robots. We have the option to reject His love and live our lives as we choose. A Godless eternity in a lake of fire may seem far-fetched and somewhat improbable in today's sophisticated culture, but please know that sin also has consequences in the here and now. I refer you to an article, readily available on the internet, by John Riggs MD, entitled "The Health Risks of Gay Sex". This article is frightening. Another excellent source of information is an article by Maggie Gallagher entitled "The Case for Marriage: ...

I recommend both of these articles as sources of information on this topic because they are written by well trained and experienced research professionals. I also believe it's a mistake making decisions in a vacuum, and the more information the better, but also because there are no religious references in either article. You won't be able to accuse me of arguing solely from a Christian bias.
And last, but absolutely not least, please read one short passage of scripture. In Romans chapter 1, verses 24 through 27, Paul explains how God will abandon the unrepentant sinner to his sin. Look it up. If your not very familiar with the Bible, the NIV translation might be the easiest to understand. Google BibleGateway then type in Romans 1, 24-27.
