This is on the cover of Newsweek. It is in and of itself a disgrace, a lie and a total abomination to the United States of America. How dare you Mr. Meacham. You have the right to say what you wish, you have the Constitutional right to write what you wish but you also have the obligation, if not the journalistic responsibility to be truthful in what you write - you sir have just written the equivalent of the Mohammed cartoon. I, sir, am tired of getting my cheek slapped. This Christian, this American, this Christian America, who understands that her nation was founded upon the very beliefs that you claim are dead has had enough of the degradation of her faith, her nation and her principles.
Here is the article.
Meacham goes into great pangs to explain that while the numbers are declining, the rise of more conservative sects are evident. He also details the exclusionary quotes of our Founders about how religion and politics should be separated and that when one enters the others arena we have problems of governance. While we as Americans agree with that statement - there is a fundamental disagreement, and with me, outrage that is fueling this blog.
As he can quote the Founders, so can I...This is a further attempt to secularize this nation, excuse and dismiss our faith foundation as Americans and continue the divide that I sadly foresee within this nation that was built upon those very principles. Mr Meacham, in other words, 'get over it'. Your attempt to detail how Christian America is dead is proof that it's very life is threatening to the agenda at hand.
Christians! Enough.
Holy Week, the week we look upon as the most Sacred in our faith is being attacked as weak, non coincidental and dying in America. I have news for Mr. Meacham and the entire repulsive state media, and as a Christian I would think that Meacham would understand this..Christianity never dies..nor will this nation. Christian America is not dying! We won that battle and were given the rights of freedom by a man over 2000 years ago. America claimed those rights, as the rights of man, given from God and built this provincial nation - nothing you say can take that away no matter how many polls or quotes you try shove in our collective faces - We are Americans, built upon the foundation of Christianity..and as all Christians we rise to defend that, we had a great Teacher - we celebrate Him this week.
I am a Christian American, who recognizes that Government should not be in the business of religion - but faith, oh my friends, more and more I am convinced should be a requisite in government. God is waiting to be invited back in - if only America would recognize that, claim that and stop defending ourselves for dare believing that we are who we are, not to the exclusion of others beliefs, but because of them. We are free ...and we shall remain free...and proud of our founding and what we were founded on..It's time to roll away the tomb of our own deaths as Americans and (forgive me Lord) rise to defend what is ours, what is all ours as Americans, free and whole, a part of this government whose intent is to devalue what and who we are and who we were meant to be.
No Mr. Meacham, American Christianity is not dead, the reports of her death have been greatly exaggerated.

This is a great blog! General, you have hit a vital cord in our heritage with the truth. The personal desks of Newsweek should be called in protest to the falsehood they are spreading. If there was a way to get the phone numbers and demand an apology this would be the time. If each magazine was swamped by the believers in support of our religious freedoms then more and more would stop preaching hate and lies. Great Blog!View thread

Who knows. However, it ain't a good thing. Thats for sure.
