Mojave Desert Cross Case Goes to High Court
Week of October 05, 2009
The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case on Oct. 7 to determine whether a 5-foot cross erected as a war memorial by veterans on a rock in California's Mojave Desert 75 years ago must be torn down. Congress voted to block removal of the cross by park officials at the Mojave National Preserve, but an appeals court ruled that maintaining a Christian symbol on public property suggested an unconstitutional government endorsement. The Supreme Court will consider whether an individual can even bring a lawsuit like this before weighing whether the cross can remain. For more information, visit the

Why is it ok for the government to pay some artist to paint pictures of christ in a jar of urine but it is not ok to have a 75 year old cross at a War memorial?View thread

According to them this is in violation of separation of church and state..
I fear that it will affect all the crosses across our country..
t forge the lawsuits by illegals against property owners in TX and AZ protecting their property and still getting civil law suits on behalf of illegals by the ACLU and I think the other one is the Southern Poverty League.
I love you cartoon!!! Where did you find it??
yeah we have to lose the ACLU.. soon..
I am not a religious woman however I respect the foundation my country, this country was founded on, it was, and is still a Christian base country. Say what you will, the fact is it is..
Taking away the symbols of God doesn't take away God and that is the objective, its a losing battle so they resort to pettiness, its a shameful picture of a great country.
I am offended by things, I am offended by Burkqa's for multiple reasons, I am offended that we no longer can put up Christmas trees in American airports, I am offended that when I call a retail store they are not allowed to wish me a Merry Christmas, they say happy holidays, political correctness offends me deeply.
This cross, a symbol of our love and gratitude to good and most likely God based men of long ago should be revered as the men it represents, no one should be offended by it however if they are so be it, its our symbol, America's symbol for fallen hero's.. ...

How foolish is political correctness... I know I am an American born grand daughter of Italian immigrants, they were never offended by anything American, they came here and loved this country, shaped and built it, and never, never criticized it, abused it, used it or maligned it.
They loved America, they would be sad to see that we have let others destroy our pride in it, our self respect and our legacy.
AMEN!
And, for those sick people that are so bent on destroying things that really aren't in their face in the first place.
