I AM NOT ONE BIT ASHAMED... NOT ONE BIT...

I have been receiving quite a few thought provoking emails over the last few weeks. Here is one I am not one bit ashamed to post. I hope you are not one bit ashamed to pass it on. “I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT. IF I OFFEND ANYONE BY THIS, I REALLY DON'T CARE AND I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE !" This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School, Kingston, Tennessee, by school Principal, Jody McLeod: "It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country. Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK. I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex....". If someone is offended, that's OK. I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem. I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology." I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.." However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated. This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments. Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression. For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time. However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet.” One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray. They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box! The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD." Somehow, Kingston, Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!" JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER." If you are not ashamed, share this with as many people as you feel comfortable. As for me, I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on.
You!

Another fine example of why NO religion should be allowed in PUBLIC FINANCED institutions. How many times does this CRAP have to happen before you so called "Christians" get it? The founders of this country were FLEEING PERSECUTION in other places... and wanted America to be different... a place where ALL COULD live in HARMONY. In FREEDOM, where EVERYONE could worship the God of THEIR CHOICE. That does NOT particularly mean JESUS!

To make it simple for you conservative christians... TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS... TAX DOLLARS FROM EVERYONE! That means that NO SINGLE RELIGION takes presidence over ANY other religion... because we ALL pay! How would YOU like it if the principal was MUSLIM... and wanted to pray from the KORAN before the game???

    Thought so....

Thank God, that this is only your opinion. This is by no means "typical" of "God fearing' White Christian" males.

Your bigotry and racism shines through for all to see.

As usual, you take one ignorant example... and exploit it to further your hateful causes.

You are incorrect. It is the few hateful bigots out there that manufacture these type of films in their effort to alienate people and give the impression that anyone who does not think like them has this type of mentality. Besides we both know how racists you are.... Riceroni...? Is that not a cheap filler?
  • O.J. Simpson
That is strange. They are allowed at Nascar races to say an invocation before each race. Honestly, all religion to me is overrated. It's fine to pray and it may help. But past events in history lead me to believe that religion is the root of all that is evil.

    The new pledge:

"I pledge allegiance to Planned Parenthood and all the aborted fetuses. One nation, under Satan, with liberty and justice for muslim extremists, child molesters and perverts."

Would you be offended if your child was compelled to say this every day?

Like me,many dont care who prays, when they pray, where they pray and to who they pray too or whether they pray or not.Thats freedom of religion and just as all can vote regardless of their creed and color, all should be allowed to pray whenever and wherever, regardless of their God and religion.Otherwise we would have religious racism and thats not true modern Americanism.

And just goes to show Shadow, that in reality if we allow it,we will always find an issue or point which we agree on sometime or other with those who seem to stand on opposite sides. To get the previous comment in I had to unblock you and the reason I did this is simply because "I will listen"and consider what is being said regardless of who is saying it.For sure we will crash head on again some other time,me thinks and when that happens so be it.But I will not denounce a view I agree on simply because it has been made by a person with whom I previously fell out with.Thought this was important to make a point of.

Heh... heh... heh... I am always amazed at the people who block me... Some I have never had the pleasure of discourse with. Perhaps it has something to do with my reputation? I don't know and it really is not important to me.

But like yourself, I appreciate an open mind, and I am willing to listen and take all ideas into consideration. It does not mean I will ultimately agree, but I will give anothers' ideas serious consideration and if it proves we are like minded, I believe it deserves acknowledgement. Thank you.

Yes, no doubt we will meet again, and quite possibly disagree. So be it. We now know who each of us really is... and that is to our credit.

The school board in my town felt it was ok to pray prior to the start of school board meetings. Someone took them to court. And won. They were told that was not allowed under any circumstances. They basically said "screw the courts" and they continued to hold their prayer sessions. They went back to court and were told unless it stopped someone was going to jail. It stopped.

How sad for the people... In essence, the courts removed their rights to freedom of speech, religion, etc...

Freedom of Speech does not authorize you to yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater, and it is as much a Freedom FROM Religion as of Religion. The people won.
I sat on an Elected Executive MUD Board (Municipal Utilities District.) for 6 years and 3 of them were whack-a-doodles, who tried to pass a 'rule' that, as they said, would help us [Sic!] make better decisions. This was a plan, passed out in a Pamphlet by Bushes Brain, "Turd Blossom" (Himself an Atheist) to get more Republicans elected to local politics, while Bush was our "Governor." I was prepared to take them to court, but the Board's Lawyer talked to them, and they agreed to stand outside the hall, and hold hands and pray in a big display of Religiosity to garner votes for them, and against those of us that didn't make a big deal of praying. Of the 4, I was the only Agnostic, but they wanted me off the board. The others were real Christians and one Jew who didn't need to play games to show they were good people. In the Bible-belt, this kind of crap works. After being reelected 3 times, me and the Jew got driven off the board, and the Whack-A-Doodles won. I lost by 69 votes, and the guy that got my seat was arrested for theft of Public Funds and misuse of Public Trust. But he did pray, even in Court. seat arrested theft public funds misuse public trust pray court

Actually, anyone can pray quietly to themselves. When the people leading a meeting tells people to stop, bow their heads and lead them in prayer it is against the law. And the court was 100% correct in enforcing it.

Yesterday, I went to a hospital run luncheon where I work. They opened the luncheon with prayer. I plan on reporting it.

Don't feel sorry for me. Feel sorry for yourself. You are the one who "needs" prayer. If there is a God out there, he knows what is in my heart and mind and doesn't need me to pray.
