like the muslims who think killing "non-believers" (of Islam) sends them to heaven and getting 72 virgins?

At least a Christian God is a loving God. Unlike Allah, apparently

As far as I can remember back to church lessons he never raised a hand to anyone except the money changers in the temple. Not a spear or an arrow or a club...he was a pretty peaceful guy really.

In the Bible, did GOD EVER aprove of war?
    http://www.bibletopics.com/to...
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
    Revelation 13:4-7

Amen, bro. Right with you there. I have never read anything that convinced me I will not have to be ready to live THROUGH the tribulation. I would rather be ready and be wrong than not be ready and have placed faith in a mythical saving event that Christians can't agree on. Sorry if that offends rapture enthusiasts, but it is my honest opinion and nothing more.

He stated in the article why the guns needed to be unloaded: for insurance reasons.

(New Bethel Church is welcoming "responsible handgun owners" to wear their firearms inside the church June 27, a Saturday. An ad says there will be a handgun raffle, patriotic music and information on gun safety.)
This Pastor wants not only for them to bring-UNLOADED-guns/weapons,but to ALSO learn about gun safety.Whats
wrong with that?To teach the proper handling tech. of handgun control. The "Do's and Don'ts of firearms. So,I see Nothing Wrong with it,when you have thousands of smart ass punks all over the country waving guns in peoples faces and KILLING other kids.Robbing the local drug stores and getting shot themselves.Ignorance is no excuse. So,if these people learn what a gun can and will do in the wrong hands, mabe there will be less kids put in the ground by these punks.Less school shootings,MABE.
    Just think,if it stops(1) school shooting,is it worth it?YES!

While this one shows the lesser numbers of school shootings,Look at the Top Number.Lets focus more on car accidents and LESS on Guns.

So what are you saying Don, that all 'smart ass punks' attend this one church? or church at for that matter.
  • Don Mar Tini June 08, 2009 02:28:46
    Don
NO,But they should!!!It isn't all about guns,If you read the story,he wants them to bring their "UNLOADED" guns.Learn Gun Safety.Proper gun control. How to handle them.SAFELY!!!(An ad says there will be a handgun raffle, patriotic music and information on gun safety)...So don't try the ABC thing...I'm not that stupid!!!(The guns must be unloaded and private security will check visitors at the door, Pagano said"Firearms can be evil and they can be useful," he said. "We're just trying to promote responsible gun ownership and gun safety.")

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this! The pastor is promoting responsible gun ownership and firearms safety. It is our right as American citizens to own firearms.
