Yes, i think they have good intentions, and are just being good people without the promise of a reward.

Anybody can be a good person. No matter what their religion, race,or how they were raised.

One's morality has nothing to do with whether or not one believes in omnipotent deities. You might as well try to tie morality to race. I think you're asking the wrong question here.

No, Atheists are the scum of the world and they polute the mind of good christian people.

But then again, anything against Christ and "his" church(es) are horrible, horrible things that pollute minds.

Free thinking is bad thinking when living by the Bible.

Yes, i think they have good intentions, and are just being good people without the promise of a reward.

People that do good things with no promise of reward seem like better people than ones who are only good because they want into heaven. Not that all religious people are like that, but their reasoning just seems to be very fear based to me.

Yes, i think they have good intentions, and are just being good people without the promise of a reward.

From a very famous quote from Anne Frank:
"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death."

Even if they aren't religious, most people really don't like building their lives off of hate and death.

Maybe they are, they might not agree with what is right, but then again they don't go around murdering.

well a lot do but I don't hate them. it's vise versa too for religious people

atheists are generally people who understand that this is all we get this life. No heaven or hell. when we die we are gone for ever so make the best of what we have. Sweden one of the least religious countries in the world also has the lowest crime rate. There is actually a very apperant corralation with the amount of violence in the country and how religious it is....and atheists cant possibly be good people....?

From what I've noticed, most of the atheists here have more morality and values than I've ever had even when I tried to go hardcore with religion. For example they actually care about important things going on in the world and whatnot and I don't care at all, and they stay within socially acceptable behavior but I make an art out of deviating from it.

Your answers were somewhat generalized and I can't say that ALL atheists are moral or not moral so I just picked undecided. When I get confused about the answer I usually pick undecided or none of the above.

I wouldn't say all are good or all aren't good. I'd say some are good, some aren't, just as with anyone of any faith or religion.

absolutely, but that is what saddens my heart, there are so many people of all ways of life that live good, moral, helpful and productive lives but that is all they will recieve is what they have in this passing world. All were made in His image and He is Spirit and we all have a eternal spirit as He. Man himself can be as good and noble as he wants but that isn't going to bring them before the Father lest any man should boast, there is only one way for eternal peace and not just the finite reward of being a good person while you live in your passing flesh, that is the belief of the great price paid by a sinless man who denied His own flesh and died the horrific death of the cross taking on our sin past, present and future descending to take all from the enemy leaving him with nothing making an open spectacle of him, and then being raised by the Spirit of God and allotting us an opportunity to be brought back into the family of God where we were always ment to be, the Word became flesh bore our shame and death, and all was done knowing we had the choice to except His payment or to choose to pay the price ourselves, His will is that none should be lost but the freedom to choose life or death, blessing or curse, is His greatest gift to His creation, and as the saying goes the wa...

what saddens most atheists hearts is when you try to depress us with false hopes and promises. if their is such a god you are obviously not him. so practice before you preach and do not tell me what might hapen when you yourself have never died and do not know.

Of course. Being "good" does not have a religious genesis. That's just silly.

Yes, i think they have good intentions, and are just being good people without the promise of a reward.

Yes, because they believe in being accountable for their actions now, and without any benefits.

And I've never had an atheist threaten to burn me at the stake.

I don't truly believe all Atheist are bad. They just seem to be more aggressive toward Christians, even though we all are created the same way, with or without the concept of God. If people of all types could relax our fears and hatred against each other, we might drop our unnecessary rites of persecution. God is not all about commandments and "It's my way or the sky-way." God is about human interaction of the heart, mind and soul. Atheist spend too much time trying to prove of God's existence, when they need to prove of themselves.

That works both ways. Atheists are sick of having religious nuts knock on their door and tell them because they don't beleive in god, they must worship satan.
