Sierra Express (SEM):You have just returned from a Synod of Bishops of Africa held in the Vatican under the leadership of Pope Benedict XVI, can you give a brief insight into the nature and outcome of the meeting?

Archbishop Charles (AC): I went to Rome to attend the Synod of Bishops of Africa; the Synod is a conference that the Pope convenes on a regular basis to discuss matters, and consultations on issues pertaining to the life of the Catholic Church. This 2009 Synod was convened by Pope Benedict to call for reconciliation, justice and peace in Africa and the role of the Church in the service of peace and reconciliation in Africa.

Don't let this guy take the frosting off the cake. The 'truth' pertaining to the "Churches" role in the events of this world is 'CONTINUOUS WAR, HATRED, & BLOODSHED', all in the name of Christ, of course! Read up on the "Crusades"! Their goals for world religious domination are still as they were then! There is no new thing under this sun!

His can't be an easy position to be in.

Perhaps someone who is Catholic can help me. Why not allow the use of Condoms to slow the spread of the HIV Virus?

    Peace

Mainly because of the Catholic Church's stance on birth control. It isn't allowed. "Be Fruitful and Multiply" is the rule. Criminally negligent with today's population and the spread of diseases, not only the HIV virus. The Catholic Church has to become responsible for the reality of this stand and I don't know if it can. It is still under the "illusion" that it can command this kind of behavior and not pay for it in the end.

So their belief is that practicing birth control is sinful?

My understanding is that in the second century C.E. that professed Christians first adopted a Stoic rule according to which the sole lawful purpose for marital intercourse was procreation. This philosophy was passed down through the centuries and was elaborated on by various Catholic theologians. The result of this teaching was the idea that sexual pleasure as an end in itself is sinful and, consequently, that sexual relations that exclude the possibility of procreation are immoral. But this is not what the Scriptures teach. Proverbs 5:18,19 Let your water source prove to be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth,  a lovable hind and a charming mountain goat. Let her own breasts intoxicate you at all times. With her love may you be in an ecstasy constantly.

The cover ups and hiding the criminals are part of the rituals here. Along with asking the congregations for another offering to pay for the defense attorneys.

I'm not referring to homosexuality. In Africa HIV/Aids is most prominent amongst the heterosexual community. They are forbidding the use of condoms between heterosexual couples.

I'm sorry but you are wrong. The vast majority of HIV transmission in Africa is heterosexual. You may not feel like that is right but it is statistically correct.

No most of the Statistics are gathered through females who have contracted the disease from their husbands. Thus the spread was through heterosexual sex.
