I wouldn't really call emo a trend. It all started as a style or genre of music. And then it seemed as if the image took over the original term for what emo really is. So I guess, like all trends they come and go, and if you look at emo as a trend, then yeah it will fade, but as for music? Emo is really a modernistic version of alternative-new wave music. Music is adaptive with time and I believe calling music emo is hard to relate to considering nearly all music is "emotional". Saying that, I would have to say that emotion in music will live on. Without emotion you couldn't have music. And I guess if it's more emotional than others, we directly call it "emo." -
