    About Me:

Sisters Amy and Nancy Harrington, the Pop Culture Passionistas, are huge pop culture fans. In fact, you could say it's their passion. Their love of TV, movies, music, and food as well as a fascination with celebrity led them to a career dedicated to their favorite things. When they're not writing about entertainment, they are producing videos about pop culture people, places, and things.

Currently, they have a blog, Popculturepassionistas.com, which they also syndicate to sodahead.com. For the last two years they have been the Senior Content Producers for GetBack Media. Their TV, movie, and pop culture blogs have been syndicated to both Yahoo and Fox News, appearing on their home pages at least once a week for the last year. In addition, they produce all of GetBack's original video content including over 450 webisodes of “Retro Minute,” a daily pop culture series, which was syndicated online to MSN.com and HULU.com and has a reach of 150 million views per month on out-of-home screens in Walmart, Costco, Coffee Bean, Dennys, Burger King, and more.

Amy and Nancy first started working together in 2003 as video producers. Together they worked on “PopVision,” an Internet series for Shout! Factory featuring wacky holidays, recreations of classic album covers, tours of pop culture locations, and conversations with entertainment legends from Herb Alpert to William Shatner. The series also included a variety of interviews with icons like Heart and The Bangles, which appeared on Shout! Factory DVDs and VH1 Classics. They are presently co-producing “The Winding Stream,” a feature length documentary about the legendary country music families the Carters and the Cashes, directed by their sister Beth Harrington.

Prior to teaming up with Nancy six years ago, Amy was Vice President of Post Production and Visual Effects for Warner Bros. Feature Films. There she managed the Studio’s Post and Effects departments while overseeing the varied creative, budgetary, and production related aspects of effects development and photography, picture and sound editorial, and final delivery for all of Warner Bros.’ films. In her ten years at the studio she was involved with over 250 movies including: the "Harry Potter" films, "The Matrix," "Analyze This," "Three Kings," and "You've Got Mail." Her early years at the studio were spent building Warner Bros.’ first in-house visual effects studio, which began with four employees and ultimately grew to a peak of nearly 150. She started her career in film and television with production and post production positions at MTV, Viacom, and Warner Bros. Television.

Before joining her sister Amy, Nancy was a theatrical producer, founding InStages Musical Theater Company where she produced the long running show "Curley: The Musical" and the holiday favorite "The Gift of the Magi." She also operated her own Graphic Design/Marketing business, specializing in annual reports, marketing plans, logo design, advertising, and brochures. Before launching her independent career, she worked for the Weltman Group, a division of Allied Advertising, where she designed and produced the Academy Award trade ads and national newspaper campaigns for Miramax Films and Paramount Classics.
