I purchased an extended warranty from Maytag Dependability Plus on my dryer, only to find out they will only fix it until the purchase price of the dryer is met. If you need an expensive part to fix your apppliance, they will cash you out with a check for the balance of your purchase price. They wrote me a check for $96.40 Try to buy a new dryer for that! I was under the impression they would fix the dryer no matter what was wrong with it!( It had been repaired two times after I bought it new.)
