I was watching John Edwards on the news the other day discussing the problems of the improvised on his Poverty Tour across America and John Edwards is worth 62 million. Rudy Giuliani made 11 million in speeches last year. What do these men know about the average everyday American? And do you believe that they can make policies based on improving the lives of the poor and and middle class?

Summer is here is Southern California, prompting the locals to stop off and find refreshing drinks to tote. On my way to work I stopped off at Whole Foods to grab a snack and juice. In the juice aisle i saw this drink that look so refreshing I had to have it, and since I was running late I didn't read the label, all I saw was organic Kombucha and assumed it to be a exotic fruit. I paid and then high tailed it to work. Mouth watering I took a huge gulp of this foreign juice and choke it down. It tasted like vinegar and had slimy stuff floating in it. I did a google search on Kombucha and it turns out that Kombucha "is the Western name for sweetened tea or tisane that has been fermented by a macroscopic solid mass of microorganisms called a "kombucha colony," usually consisting principally of Bacterium xylinum and yeast cultures. " I just swallowed a lump of bacteria, I'm feeling really gross and highly disappointed... :0(

President Bush has now said that he will ok a bill that sets benchmarks in Iraq, but he will veto any bill that Congress presents that does not give him the full funding that he is requesting. The House is expected to pass a bill that will give the President half the amount now, and then the President would have to submit another request and "progress report" in July on the war to receive the other half. Supporters of the bill say it will give more flexibility with war stratagems. Rather than continue funding for methods that are not working. "We reject that idea. It won't work," the president said. The White House also believes that giving the half the funds now will jeopardized the lives of the troops, as they will have inadequate supplies. Will a compromise be made, before the fiscal budget deadline?

Instead, on the bureau will be a copy of ``An Inconvenient Truth,'' former Vice President Al Gore's book about global warming. They'll also find the Gaia equipped with waterless urinals, solar lighting and recycled paper as it marches toward becoming California's first hotel certified as ``green,'' or benevolent to the environment. The Gaia and Orchard are seeking to be the first hotels in California certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, which has authenticated 800 buildings across the U.S. and has about 6,000 in the process, including 30 hotels. San Francisco and other cities offer financial incentives to lessen water and energy use and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
