If not Hillary, who should Obama choose as his running mate?

Many people think that if Obama wins the Democratic nomination Hillary Clinton should be his running mate. But if NOT Hillary, who do you think is the best choice? I'm only listing a few, and obviously any other suggestions are welcome.

And if your answer is "I won't vote for Obama regardless of who he picks", your opinions are still welcome, but this probably isn't the poll for you.

I was thinking it was going to be Richardson or Edwards but the big rah, rah article in this Sunday's parade about Webb makes me think it will be him. Usually a media driven pump up comes before the choice. And we think we chose who gets it, don't we!(said in sing-song voice)
Soon they will pick the R choice, should be interesting since they have annointed Obama. Can hear it now: Let's see who can draw the least votes .......

Obama has the best skilled and organized team, never before seen in our election history, and they care for america and the American people. I'd rather leave it to their decision, rather than be silly and second guess their choice. They have, so far, admirably too, chosen the right people to run their campaign, and I believe they will not fault on their choice of the VP.

The best skilled... best organized...? How is that?

Seems to me that if they were "skilled" they would have handled the Rev Wright problem as if it was a speck of old fly poop in a pepper shaker. They would have handled the Tony Resko problem with facts and not quiet denial, hoping it will fade away from the spot light... unless those facts happen to be... damming.

Despite his vehement dismissal of such a notion, I think it would be great if he did.

So, you take the psychology road to claim I have faulty thinking. Hahaha!

It is common knowledge that most psychologists need another psychologist to straighten them out. You'll have to do better than that, MadHatter.

I do not accept your claim as a viable debate.

Remember, in my family of two, there is one Ph.D and another on the way. And, we are two of those educated people who don't buy into the BS of Obama.

I actually meant to include Governor Richardson on the list. I think he is a good and qualified man. General Clark has been fairly quiet since the 2004 campaign and I would like to know his stand on some of the current issues.

Michael Bloomberg is in my opinion the most qualified person in the United States to be President, but I would faint dead away if he was willing to take what John Adams described as “the most insignificant office that ever the Invention of man contrived or his Imagination conceived.”

    Funny you should ask:

"John Nance Garner famously said that the vice presidency wasn’t worth a bucket of warm spit, and for Garner (who served under FDR) it probably wasn’t."

    Here's an even better one:

"The other, and my personal favorite, is from Sen. Daniel Webster, who rejected Zachary Taylor’s offer to run with him (the two had both sought the Whig nomination) in 1848, saying: “I do not propose to be buried until I am dead.” Taylor went on to win the election, but died soon after, which would have made Webster president anyway. Instead we got Millard Fillmore."

Interesting, Richardson - the most sapping governor that New Mexico has ever had, a do nothing Secretary of Energy, has siphoned off highway repair funds to pay for his new fancy jet that can't land at 85 % of the cities/towns in New Mexico.

Wesley Clark a politico general that as SACEUR, NATO was a perfect billet fill, since NATO stands for No Action, Talk Only. The Army gave him NTC, and then TRADOC to keep him out of any important war fighting postings. Smart guy, but politically a loose cannon, lacks common sense.

Mayor Bloomberg... well there you may actually have something since he is a successful businessman, I would welcome that choice.

Well if you want to get technical, Jonathan Archer was the first captain of any starship named "Enterprise"

  • raves +1   [-] by Space Monkey
If you REALLY wanna get technical it was probably Fred Haise
