Houston teen kicked out of prom for skimpy dress--Do you believe teens should be able to wear what they want to prom?
Prom night is usually something that high school girls look forward to all year long. For one Madison high school senior, her prom was nothing like she had planned due to her very skimpy dress. She was confronted with school officials and was escorted out in handcuffs because her dress was inappropriate for the school prom.
Most schools have set dress codes for events (such as a prom) and this is not the first time that prom attire has been disputed. Is it right for teens to wear what they want to prom, or do schools have the right to enforce dress codes?

Answered No way...dress codes are a must for prom!
I believe that since the Prom is a school sponsored event then the same rules that apply to school should apply for the prom. I think that the dresses that some young women wear to the prom are inappropriate to begin with but if it was considered so skimpy that the girl was escorted out then it must have really been a doozy. -

Yea its cool to have your own freedom for prom dresscode. but there is a such thing as too much freedom. Someone has to draw the line. And i just want to know why her mom let her out the house that way... come on there are so many beautiful dresses that arent as revealing!!! -

Answered Yes...we are known to be the "free" nation!
Duh! Prom is supposed to be fun! And what fun is it if they tell you what dress you can spend hundreds of dollars on! If they told me that I couldn't wear a dress, I would say fine and walk in naked.... haha...

I'm all about defending our rights and whatnot, but come on! Where is this girl's mother? How could she even let her go out in a dress like that???I do, however, think that handcuffs were a bit excessive.
