first, "in god we trust" wasn't added to money till the 50's, so its not a huge part of our history. and second, this country was based on religous freedom and not all religions believe in god, its not just atheist's. so its a little sepratist to have the word god on our money.
and third, its extremists of any kind that make a country bad. wheather its religion, libral, conservative or something else entirely, but mainly I think hardcore religion is the biggest problem.

This is the principle on which our great country was formed. Our founders put "In God We Trust" on our currency to let the world know
what we are all about. It is not meant to make someone go to church
but it is to encourage us to live by the faith of our forefathers. Perhaps
if we thought of that phrase more often we could be encouraged to

First of all our Founders did not put "In God We Trust on our money.
A law passed by the 84th Congress (P.L. 84-140) and approved by the President on July 30, 1956, the President approved a Joint Resolution of the 84th Congress, declaring IN GOD WE TRUST the national motto of the United States. IN GOD WE TRUST was first used on paper money in 1957
The Founders were not the staunch Christians you mistakenly believe them to be:

No It is part of our heritage and history... I am an agnostic but I could care less if there is a statement about god on the money. I think it is fine. Why should we (America) cater to a few whiney crapheads who get offended by the statement? Tell them to live with it or do like I do and ignore it. -

I am so happy to see the majority of people said NO! There are only abot 14% of people in this country that are "Atheists" why should the rest of us cater to them?? One doesnot have to be what I call a religious "nut", almost all of those who have any faith at all would hate to see this happen. It seems whoever yells the loudest, gets the most attention. It's been printed on trillions of billions of Aermican Dollars. Why come up with the debate to change on it now that's stupid lol. It's a currency, what differnce in your life is it going to make to take 3 words off of something we use everyday. It stands to great importants to people and others don't care; then some who feel it's right to take it off. If it's been built and designed that way what right do you have to change it, it has never done anything to you. -

NO!!!!/NO WAY!/ABSOLUTELY NOT!/ This country was founded on the colonists TRUST IN GOD and it should stay that way. Deleting that will be the ruination of this country. You can see how our society has deteriorated since this movement started. We have to reverse that and get back to a God fearing society once again. -

Better check your history, we were founded on the FREEDOM from religion and the corruption that came with it, yet we still let these religous idiots burn witches, drown witches and all the other atrocities that religion has brought against the peoples of the world. They also gave infected blankets with smallpox to the native americans, because they were SAVAGES? Religious people are the savages they are always trying to force their beliefs on everyone, and condemning anyone that don't believe like them.

That's a silly question. Seeing the word God on money isn't making me nor anyone else all of a sudden go to church. Since it's not inspiring me, why is it despairing to others?
