Music - Country
What is the problem with country music?
Why is it that so many people discriminate against country music? I mean everyone seems to think that because we talk slow that we are mentally impaired. Why is this?-

I personally love country music. But real country music: folk, roots, bluegrass, etc, etc. Give me some Townes Van Zandt or some Johnny Cash.
The reason most pople hate country is because they think it's all like Nashville country-pop crap (ie: Shania Twain, etc). That's not even real country music, it's essentially pop with a country twinge. People need to avoid mainstream country if they want anything worth listening to (though I will say I quite like the Dixie Chicks, haha). -

I like Some Country Music especially Southern Rock!!! and a few selected others more the ones that can crossover Now this is just in fun, I am told that if you play country music in reverse, you will get your truck, Your Dog & Your Woman or Man back -

Answered I think its because...
Country used to be great, no arguments there. Unfortunately, country music has gone down the toilet because A.) its growing # of singers in comparison to its fans and B.) because it uses the same theme over and over. This is the reason that people don't like rap music too. Singing about the same theme, whether it be a song about heartbreak or a song about living in an old west style environment, people will stop listening to new music. Older songs they'll keep listening too, but tune themselves out to the new music.
