A woman in Alabama Actually called 911 to complain about 2 guys kissing and hugging each other on a park bench , is this a waste of 911 resourses?
The woman ask to the 911 Operator can I report 2 men kissing in public for the last hour as an emergency --the 911 operator said there is not a whole lot we can do about it, but if you feel it's an unsafe condition I will be happy to send an officer out there to investigate. The woman said yes, this is just disgraceful and very unsafe. The police came and ask the the 2 men to leave the park because it was making people very uneasy to witness this. But as they were leaving they noticed a guy and girl kissing on a different park bench and when they motioned for the officer , to ask them to leave the officer said "we Don't want any trouble here, just keep on moving or I'll have to take you in for disturbing the peace" "There have been no complaints against the other couple".

I am so sick of people thinking that the law is there to keep them from being offended. Everybody is offended by something. The law only deals with those "offenses" that infringe on another person's rights and are violent. Nobody has the "right" not to see things that are offensive. I'm "offended" by the sight of meat-eating. Can I get a cop to make McDonalds "move along"? -

Similar case happened during a baseball game in St Louis. A lady with her son was sitting in the stands and a lesbian couple was sitting within vision. One of the gals leaned over to give her partner a kiss on the cheek and the mother was appauled so much that she called the event security over to have them removed from the stadium. The staffer told the women they had to quit or leave because it was offensive to the other baseball fans. The mother told the officer they were being very lude and had been slobbering the entire game. When one of the lesbian women tried to explain that all she did was peck her on the cheek, the security guy got mad and threw them out anyway. Seems like this is some kind of discrimination to me. -

Not only is this a misuse of the 911 services, but this makes me ashamed to say that I too am an american. People don't like things that are different fro the way that they used to be,and we almost can't blame it on them because that was the way that they were raised. -

That is so stupid. I mean if they were being excessive in their kissing to the point of making out I could see why the woman would call; its a park there's gotta be kids running around. But seriously there are hetero couples at our park that do that all the time, no one calls the cops on them.
The officer's response just makes me shake my head, "We don't want any trouble here, just keep on moving or I'll have to take you in for disturbing the peace."
Ridiculous, all of it. -

It doesn't matter if children are watching, or it doesn't matter who it offends. We should change all our laws to accomodate gay sexual displays. Happy Now??

That is just absolutely ridiculous. Ever hear of that lady who was arrested for calling 911 to ask if they could bring a cute cop she saw back to her house? Yeah, that should happen to this lady. This is a "prank call" to me...there's no life or death situation happening and she sure as hell didn't have to watch them. Maybe if she minded her own damn business and stopped staring at other people, their lives wouldn't matter to her. -

It's a waste of resources. The sad thing is she might be one of those people that if something really bad was happening she wouldn't call 911 but just turn her head and hide..... ignorance and prejudice make me angry from the caller and from the Police department.....

Yes, it's a waste. Homophobes!! Don't look if it disturbs you! And, the fact a guy and girl were kissing proves the point! A homphobe who calls in because these two guys are kissing, is an ignorant ass!! Sorry but people need to get over it! Turn away, if you don't like what you see. I'm forced to watch alot more than this, and I cannot call 911. Could you hear it now, "911, what's happening? "This guy and girl are kissing and dancing in the park", your problem sir? "it's disgusting"! Well Sir, all of our Officers are out on other calls, a possible rape in progress, a man was just shot and a burglary in progress. I'll send them there as soon as possible. Caller, "Good but hurry". What a pathetic waste that caller is. Sorry Vince, I'm in a bad mood right now. Hope my response doesn't upset your poll. Luv ya', David
