Answered on a reuben sandwich
I used to help my dad make his own, and he always put a sprig of dill on top, and it was very good.
Besides Reubens, I like it on pizza with canadian bacon, in a roast, and by itself.
The only drawback is sometimes it can create innards havoc... -

Answered by itself
By itself, on hot dogs, and slow cooked with a ham. It's a tradition in my family that eating saurkraut on New Year's Day will bring a full year of good luck. I HATED it. Then when I was preggo with my 1st child, I just couldn't get enough, and I've been craving it ever since!!! -

Answered with sausage
Well it didn't matter if you liked or didn't like sauerkraut when I was a little girl you either ate what was served or you did without. My Dad called it *sauerkraut and weished* . When I was younger I thought weished was the german word for sausages but now I realize what it is . It was dear old dad with that german accent saying it was sauerkraut and wished it was something else. Apparently he didn't like it either.
