What is your word for soft drinks?

Around the US, and I'm sure worldwide, everyone has a different name for soft drinks. Here, we just call it soda...other places call it pop....what's your name for it?

Answered Soda

Out West, I grew up learning to call it "Soda" and never "Pop". Can you imagine, PopHead?

    Pop as a lolipop?
  • raves +1   [-] by Dani

    Answered Pop

Haha, yes, I have run into many people that are very bothered by the use of "pop" rather than "soda" but my first point is, it's how I was raised and it's what most people say around here and number two is, pop is one syllable versus two, and i don't like talking all that much. Monosyllabic is the way to be.
  • raves     [-] bubblegumpop replied to Dani
im an active girl, so, i dont drink soda much.

I've only used soda. I think calling it pop is kinda funny.

    Answered Soda

Here in NJ it's called Soda, My wife's family in Ohio call it "POP" which just sounds kind of odd. Here a "pop" is a another word for a "punch" so if you ask someone for a "POP" here, you might just get a punch in the nose!

LOL! You're so right! I was just out with Matt's parents, and they're from western PA...his mom said pop, and I giggled to myself! LOL
