If they are going to have sex then why shouldn't they be prescribed birth control. Also Birth control can help so many things. For one it can make periods lighter and less painful, it can help with pms. It can make irregular periods regular. I took birth control because I have Polycystic Ovarian Sydrome and It made me actually have my period and help stop the side effects of the disease, I started taking it when I was 12. I was not sexually active. -

all little girls should be forced to take this Cervical cancer causing drug. (sarcasm) No of course not and the shouldn't have to take the hpv vaccine that also is proven to cause cervical cancer just to go to school. How do these people call themselves doctors? -
raves May 18, 2008 06:00PM GMTUnfortunately the ones that need to have birth control are the ones, for the most part, that don't have the type of relationship with their parents that they would be comfortable asking for their approval. It would be great if all kids could confide in their parents..but many parents won't hear of it.
As long as teens are going to have sex, it makes sense for doctors to be allowed to prescribe birth control to them. It sure beats unwanted teenage pregnancy. -

Thats a tough question to answer. But I'd have to say yes. Although I think teenagers really shouldn't be having sex in the first place, they do. Thats just reality. And if prescribing birth control cuts down on teen pregnancies then yeah, I think they should. -

It's just a theory, but I've heard stories of it working in ancient days, A household where two parents stay together throughout the child's life ( I know Crazy but just wait it gets better) and The young female spends a lot of time with the older female to learn the ways of her life, Some how they could afford for the older female to stay at home, And she actually wanted to do it, to ensure the survival and pride of her young, and the male could afford to make the bills on his own.
I think I saw it in a sci-fi you like that one MBGD? -
raves +1 Apr 14, 2008 04:19AM GMTWhat he means is there used to be a time... way back when... when mothers stayed home and took care of the kids and didn't have to work to help support the family. When just one income was enough... when the divorce rate was down... and parents were together, and the words "until death do you part" actually meant something.
I wish it could be like that for us! You and me... other married couples... -

Without parental consent. My daughter tells me or her gramma everything. Yet, if she didn't and needed birth control it should be available. Making it unavailable only adds to the problem. People aren't talking to their kids like they should be and it is leaving them vulnerable. Every girl should be able to walk in to a clinic and get the information and help that they need. If they can get a pregnacy test without consent(and they can) they should have access to a little prevention as well. -
raves +1 Apr 13, 2008 09:14AM GMTI like that you care, but these "clinics" are just another pusher on the street corner, they tell you how awesome their drug is, but not how it's going to lay your body to waste, extra waste if your under 18. This is horrible, but I don't expect anything different from Darfur children killing, money laundering, deep pocket careless big pharms.

If teens can get abortions then they should be able to get birth control.
