Further evidence of the great “Man Made Global Warming” hoax — global temperatures have not increased since 1998! Do you still believe that "global warming" is caused by man (even though the Earth isn't even warming)?

Radical environmentalists and their fellow travellers want to knee-cap our economy to “fight” this non-existent problem by enacting carbon taxes and cap-and-trade schemes. They want massive government programs such as the ethanol boondoggle that is increasing the price of food around the world. And they want to make billions for themselves. (more)

Isn't the leading meteorologist at the Weather Channel threatening to sue Gore for fraud?

By now most people are aware that the founder of The Weather Channel, John Coleman, said global warming is "the greatest scam in history" last November.

On Monday, while speaking at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change being held in New York City, Coleman took his criticisms further by advocating that all those involved in the sale and marketing of carbon credits, including Al Gore, should be sued "to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming.”

I don't understand how people can continue to deny what is happening, I feel sorry for people who don't understand this is happening because they are in for one huge shock!
  • [-] Hannity... patchesm27 April 07, 2008 11:47:51
Understand what is happening? The Earth has not warmed in 10 years and this year the temperature will go down. there is no proof that man causes the temperature of the planet to go up and down.

What motivation would Mr. Gore have? Money. Turns out he has huge stakes in companies that are the largest owners of carbon credits. Yep, Gore stands to make a bajillion gazillion dollars if this cap and trade stuff goes through. But he just wants to save the environment! Riiiiight. And he invented the internet, too.

Believe all the fairy tales you want, but climate change (mostly warming) is very real, and just about every reputable scientist in the field knows it's at least partially caused by human activity.
  • +2 raves [-] Hannity... crsone April 05, 2008 23:18:23 (edited)
Obviously there is climate change the Earth's temperature has always been changing. There is absolutly no proof that we cause the Earth's temperature to increase or decrease.

"Exxon cuts ties to global warming skeptics
Oil giant also in talks to look at curbing greenhouse gases
MSNBC staff and news service reports
    updated 1:42 p.m. ET, Fri., Jan. 12, 2007

NEW YORK - Oil major Exxon Mobil Corp. is engaging in industry talks on possible U.S. greenhouse gas emissions regulations and has stopped funding groups skeptical of global warming claims — moves that some say could indicate a change in stance from the long-time foe of limits on heat-trapping gases.

Exxon, along with representatives from about 20 other companies, is participating in talks sponsored by Resources for the Future, a Washington, D.C., nonprofit. The think tank said it expected the talks would generate a report in the fall with recommendations to legislators on how to regulate greenhouse emissions."

Quite a turnaround from its position of only a few years earlier:

"In 1998, Exxon devised a plan to stall action on global warming. The plan was outlined in an internal memo that promised, "Victory will be achieved when uncertainties in climate science become part of the conventional wisdom" for "average citizens" and "the media." (Here's the memo:
    http://www.edf.org/documents/...

The company would recruit and train new scientists who lack a "history of visibility in the climate debate" and develop materials depicting supporters of action to cut greenhouse gas emissions as "out of touch with reality."

FYI, MSNBC can say whatever they want but you will not find that evidence on Exxon's web site. The only companies that are going to research alternative fuels and power are petroleum companies and energy companies. We need to make sure we don't tax and fine them out of business before they find the next solution. The free market will find the next fuel source. Third world countries will not solve these problems and neither will the Kyoto protocol. The amount it would cost nations to implement the Kyoto protocol we could eliminate starvation and provide drinking water for the next hundred years to every human on earth. We need to be very careful what we do.

Do you think its a case of political expediency like British Petroleum changing their name to BP? Its a good pr move in a time when everyone hates the oil companies.
  • +1 raves [-] Chartre... racemon... April 05, 2008 23:37:17
Well, thinking of it in conjunction with Janet's comment on alternative energy, maybe they will get better subsidies for that if global warming really is a threat? Just a thought.

Bun, get out of the oven, you are well done. The founder of the weather channel has said from the beginning of global goring that it was not real. Do you not think it odd that it is now being called "climate change". Al Gore has made millions off of green companies from this. He should be arrested.

LMAO. It went from global cooling in the 70's to global waming with Al Gore now the IPCC is back to saying Global cooling again (it is amusing how many people blindly folow this "man-made global warming" without doing any research on their own). If these scientists are so sure that global warming is happening how come they will not debate anyone on the topic? The answer is there is no data to back their statements up. There has not been a tempaure increase since 1998 and they are now saying that the Earth's tempature will drop this year.

Global warming doesn't even exist any more. It is back to "climate change". There are thousands of scientists that disagree, they are just not given time. John Coleman who is a meteorologist and the founder of the weather channel does not believe in global warming. I am not saying we are not going to see "climate change", but to make stupid statements and stupid movies about Miami being under water in 10 years and the polar ice caps melting is irresponsible. You can be fooled but I sure as hell won't buy into hype. Remember back in the 70's the "scientists" wanted to pollute the ice caps so we could prevent the next ice age. I don't mind investigating weather, but we need to hear dissenting views.

What islands? You need to do more than just accept what is stated. I have a beach house in Wildwood NJ and the beach grows about 1foot every year. While in Delaware there is a loss of beach every year. I am not saying there isn't climate change, but we need to be very careful and responsible about what we do.

I do not want polluted water either, believe me it is cleaner today than it was 30 years ago. We are getting better at many things not worse. I have not heard of the above island however it is like I said above, some may be deteriorating or gone but others are larger and growing every year. I am not saying that we should not research but we should not "just do" anything. We need to do smart things.
