Besides my engagement ring, I have two rings that my father bought before he died. One of them was given to my mother, and one was given to my grandmother. They were both given to me years later. I keep them tucked away in a jewelry box so as not to lose or damage them. I also have a necklace that used to belong to a very special man whom I lost two years ago. A group of his very close friends got together last year and asked his parents if they could go through some of his things and send a special gift to those of his friends who lived further away. They sent me a necklace that they said he would have wanted me to have. -

manny you story was very touching, I myself am a jewelry slut, I think I inheireted
this from my favorite great aunt. The running joke with our friends is me working on my
jewelry merit badge. (I'm the scoutmasters wife) My husband and sons have given
me some great pieces over 25 yrs and hope to give them to future daughter-in-laws. -

jewelery promotes slavery - nearly all precious stones and most precious metals are mined under conditions that American law would not allow if it the mining took place in this country. Many precious stones are mined using child labor. -

i have three actually.
a silver heart necklace from my great aunt and her family, a golden bracelet from my grandma (who spent all her money on it... ) and a golden cross from my cousin. Those are pretty much the only jewelry I wear, and i wear the cross on the bracelet so i don't ever have to take any of them off :) -

It is a ring that my Grandma had made.
My Grandfather was in WW2 and he had his fingers shot off, they sent the ring home, but unfortunately he was killed and his body was never returned to her. She took his and her wedding rings had them melted down to make one ring with both their initials engraved into it. I have 2 sons I am hoping to get a Granddaughter one day to pass this piece of family history to her. -

My 4 1/2 ct. Canary diamond custom wedding ring I designed. It fabulous! I won't travel with it though I'll use my travel wedding ring for going over seas and then I have a plain band for any labor activities that could hurt the jewelry. -
