Sarah Palin Newsweek Cover: Is the cover biased?

The untouched photo on the Newsweek cover of Sarah Palin plays to her common folk appeal. Some people blieve that the unphotoshopped cover sends a message that it’s time to stop viewing the world as we wish it be, but face the reality of the world as it is. Only then can we move forward. Complaints are resonating from near and far that the Newsweek cover is biased. The party line is that Newsweek generally touches up photos to make individuals look better.

Answered Yes. Newsweek should of made Palin's face smoother and brighter like a mannequin

Who gives a....? I'm so sick of this woman. She's lucky to have been on the cover of anything other than the front page of the Wasilla newspaper. She's comes out of nowhere, says nothing intelligent and now the world is supposed to be up in arms because Newsweek didn't retouch her photo?! Please. There are far more important things going on besides the pimple on Sarah's cheek.

Answered No. Sarah Palin doesn't need photo retouching, she looks pretty in close-up

I think Sarah Palin is very pretty upclose and far... but she is very 'loopy'.

This picture actually gave her a sense of sharpness that she doesn't have. I think they did her a favor in trying to make her seem astute on a professional level... when really all she is - is a Judy pie baker who hangs with Joe six packs.

But since there is nothing to hang onto with Palin other than her being pretty... of course those that subscribe to the BS the media is making about the pic - will complain.

I think they should've put a picture of her winking.... that shows what a nit'wit she is - and that way she can relate with the other Judy pie bakers that feel they can sit at the kitchen table and just have some pie together....because they get her.

See this is the problem with Americans right now, we dont' want to see things as they really are. We want Sarah Palin to be retouched on the magazine cover so you don't have to see her rough edges, her imperfections. We don't want to see her as she actually is. Its an interesting parallel i think to her political situation. Wake up people, look at life like it really is, stop listening to sound bytes, stop demanding fakeness, stop relying on lies.

Sarah is beautiful even super close up.

Newsweek should have shown her whole gorgeous face then they have sold more magazines! Duh! Instead they chose this bizarre photo as a cheap shot.

Hope NOONE actually buys this magazine and it backfires on them. I for one am canceling my subscription!

Go Sarah, you look great and Newsweek is biased and even they can't make you look bad. Who is Obama?? Where will this all stop. Hopefully, not at the Whitehouse steps. My God, wake up America. We don't know who he really is? Do you think Obama is really going to tell "US". Come on????
This woman for one doesn't support Obama. Ever heard of Puma? Count me in their pack. McCain/Palin 08 for Hillary vs. Palin in 2012!

Surely Newsweek has a better photographer than the person who took this. I'd like to look at the other proofs to see if this particular shot was really the best one. It seems to me that if I had that important of an assignment, I would have made sure it was my best
    work.

I don't really think she's that pretty, tbh. She wears way too much make-up. But I hate how everything is always photoshopped.

Who doesn't like a great smile? She definitely has a sparkler! Real women don't need to look like some over processed "hollywood whores" to be beautiful. Sarah's a real outdoors woman but she's not weathered. Truth be told; most of us look better being more natural than using all that war paint. . Some maskara and lipstick and we're good to go. Now then, can those "hollywood liberal types" shoot a 223 in full auto like she can?

    None of the above
I think she looks fine but they should have done the airbush like they do for everyone else.
The bias in the news media is getting out of control but it is good to find out who they are so i dont waste my money buying it again.

People who complain about this are morons. Palin most likely wanted the picture like that; just look at the image she is trying to project: "one of the folks"

I am pretty sure that who ever is on the cover gets to decided how the pics go???? even if not i think the fact that the whole point of the artical is that she real not plastic makes it a valid cover....
lol not that if the did it in an unflatering way i wouldnt moan and complain about them being biased:) hey i may be hippocritical but at least i normal reconize it when i am.....

Wow, what a choice- yes, they should have, vs. no, she's beautiful? How about, "She's running on the false perception that she's folksy, and if she's shown as she really looks she shouldn't bitch about it?"
