Was I weird or what? I think I was... I think I am the only kid to do that... Read the description...?

When I was about 7 or 8, sometime after my MawMaw (my mother's mom) had passed, I would lie in my bed as if I were in a casket. I would listen to funeral type music on my head phones. I was trying to see what it felt like to be dead, and lifeless. I wanted to imagine, what it would be like to lay there and imagaine all the people walking past peering down... Was I weird in 2nd grade or what?

You were at a stage in life when you were curious about the things going on around you. I believe you are still in that stage. Most of us are before we hit our 20's.

    Answered None of the above

I don't think you were weird. I think you were dealing with death the only way you knew how. You were curious and wanted to answer your own question. Since we really don't know how it feels....I guess you got as close as you could to finding out w/out actually dying.

    Answered TOTALLY!

You have always been weird. But truthfully, I was like 6 when my great grandpa died and I took harder than some of the adults. Kids have a way of being a whole lot more curious than adults. So, that isn't what made you weird. I did. You were just trying to understand what was happening around you and you were coping with the death of a loved one.

I can't say I ever did anything like that, but it is normal for a 2nd grader to wonder about something they have no way of really understanding and for you at the time it was death.

I have perspective on your experience. what I see is that subconsciously you wanted to take that attention wasted on your grandmother for yourself....that doesnt' have to be a bad thing or make you a bad person. you were just a kid doing kid stuff....now your more mature doing more mature things.........we all hope

I like your thinking. Except, that I was alone, in the room. I didn't want anyone near me.
