Answered Yes. Sarah Palin surprised me at the VP debate.
She came out as well rehearsed, and knowledgeable. She also came across as sincere, one thing that Biden did not. Biden did his usual job of looking down on her for being female. His "wry smile" came out. On the other hand, they agreed on "gay marriage," which must just kill the majority of the democratic base. -

didn't crash and burn but she did not answer questions in detail and disregarded questions that she did not want to answer. The moderator did not make her stick to the questions and did not give her followup questions. When others have pinned her down to get an answer, she flounders. She does have a great memory but no original answers. A president needs more than a good memory. -

She spoke directly into the camera to the people who vote "according to looks and appeal", which is SMART b/c that's about all she has to offer. UNfortunately, it may just be enough to WIN! Biden MAY have looked into the camera with sincerity ONCE! He was BORING! But still better than Obama the other night! He might as well have put on his butler suit and asked John McCain if there was ANYTHING he could get for him, in front of the entire WORLD!
Obama and Biden BOTH need to grow a pair of "new ones"! Right now? Sarah Palin has bigger balls than EITHER of them!

She exhibited her skill in delivering lines. She had been given a selection of responses to predictable questions. It didn't matter whether or not the answer actually answered the question as long as it was on the subject, loosely. She had been drill baby drilled on how to deliver her lines, with a few well rehearsed ad libs thrown in, and she did it. Not a single thought was hers. She had been very carefully programmed at McCain's villa all week long, and she did what she was supposed to do. Sarah Palin is a walking, talking PR stunt - she's nothing more than a talking head. -

I think she carried herself well in this debate, was much better than the Couric interview (wouldn't take much to beat that disaster!) However, how one looks and carries themselves is not the only quality that makes a great leader in my opinion. I think she was a big gas bag at tonights debate. The Republican party must really think that Americans are stupid to believe that the as long as we "Drill Baby Drill" it will answer America's addiction to oil? What century are they living in? What about solar? Wind? McCain/ Palin ticket has no interest in other energy plans except for nuclear and offshore oil drilling. I will be ashamed to call myself an American if McCain wins. -

She learns some set answers and she repeats them as needed. She did not fall apart as she did recently on interviews but she also did answer most of the questions she was asked. Waiting for Tina Fey to portray her performance! -

She was robotic, this was memorized information for her and didn't sound like a person talking something she knew, she didn't wing it as usual, but you could see her looking at her paper at times when trying to make a point. She didn't impress me and I really hate that the way her personality comes across. I think she was well rehearsed, but not passionate about nothing she said, except, about the VP having more duties. -

raves Oct 03, 2008 07:22AM GMTMaybe that is because they work hard and don't rely on the government for handouts. I was middle class and have worked my way up to upper middle class. My family has always been Republican and have always been lower middle class. I was raised by a single mom with 4 kids. I know plenty of middle class Republicans, because we are conservative first. I am quite frustrated with the republicans right now with making government larger not smaller and the spending is out of control. We are for lower taxes on all Americans, smaller government, government based on rule of law, keeping 2nd ammendment rights, protecting all human life from conception to natural death, and marriage between one man and one woman.
How do you figure that a governor makes that much money? She has only been the governor for 2 years, so you think she forgot about what it is like to be middle class in 2 years? I have been out of middle class for about 6 years and I still remember and try to keep the same lifestyle of the middle class. We have a budget, we give over 30% of our income to church and charity - unlike Senator Biden that gave less than 1%. You should get out and meet more conservative Republicans, we really are not the antichrist. You have the wrong stereotype of most Republicans. -

Sounded as if she was talking a group of Jerry Springer fans. She spoke about her husband who is a commercial fisheman but also works for an oil company. Which Joe Six Pack was she referring to? Was it the Beer drinker or the body builder. Not every woman in this country is a hockeyy, Soccer, Baseball or football mom. She dodged alot of the issues by answering a totaly different question that was never asked. She sounded liike an episode of the Andy Grifith Show. Yes she was talking in to the camera but she was talking down to those of us that know better. She knows jack shit about the economy as well as foriegn affairs. If McCain does get elected she is one heartbeat away from the dumbing of America. At least Biden knoes what is going on.I would also like to say I think she does a good impersonation of Tina Faye. Tina Rocks on SNL
