Why do you hate God?
The more I post questions about things related to the Bible, it seems the more angry people get. Or if someone mentions Sarah Palin's extreme conservatism and her religious theocracy, they are so angry. They say religion uses scare tactics to get people to live under the pressure of morality. Sometimes they insult me directly. So I want to know, what's the big deal with God? Personally, I love God and I have no idea why everyone hates him.

they need someone to blame for their mistakes, loneliness... and lack of spirit....
i dont hate God... cuz everything i am...everything i have done... its because i chose to
LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES YOU MAKE... there are no contradictions of whats wrong and whats right...thats what you should foucus on.
.... He just points to the direction and you are the one who chooses either to follow or not... -

Of ignorance and they dont have enough knowledge of Him. I Believe in God with all my heart and I think it is sad to hear that people hate God or do not believe in him. I really in all honesty did not realize that so many people did not believe in God until I joined Sodahead and to me thats sad and i could not imagine my life without God in it. He has helped me through alot of tough times and without Him in my life.... I just can't imagine. -

I don't hate god either, just don't believe. I hate plenty of the things and ideas that so many god believers believe and do.
I don't understand how anyone can think that a theocracy could be a good thing. You might read up on the Taliban. Or if you're into fiction try "The Handmaid's Tale" or "It Can't Happen Here". -

I think there scared. My opinion is that if the choose to believe in God and live the life of a christian then they have to stand by what they believe. They would have to repent for sin and choose what is right and wrong wisely. All in all I think people are scared of doing the right thing and taking responsibility for their actions. -

Well, ...I am Agnostic .. And I really don't put much thought into religion. I try my best to avoid the fire and brimstone "you're going to hell" people. Even if I was positive about my stance on whether God exists or not, I would have nothing against him. I just don't have loads of respect for the crazy people that follow him and take him far too seriously. Of course, not all are crazy ..but there are the kinds like my Great Aunt that sends pamphlets to everyone in the family titled, "Are You Good Enough to Go to Heaven?"
Perhaps this is why some hate "God." They simply resent the intolerance and criticism they receive from his followers. -

You put your Faith in men and think that all things have to be quantifiable to be believable, but I disagree and think that is a very narrow focus on the universe. Science continually conflicts itself. So if you hate me now, is this going to make working together awkward?

They ask for help, the only help they can think of (though it may not be what God has in mind for them); and because they don't get, what they perceive as ANY help they feel slighted, dismissed, ignored, and rejected. It's tough to feel all that and not have some type of negative feeling towards the person/entity that you see as doing that to you.
Me, I'm still waiting on help; though my hope of actually receiving it wanes daily. Thanks. Thanks for all the help.

Just for starters He "created" me without me having a choice...and then as soon as I'm old enough to understand all this stuff I have to choose between believing in God (and worshipping Him) and not doing so.
So straight off God is FORCING me to make a choice...a choice that could effect me for eternity.
What about the choice not to have to make a choice?
If I'd known all about this craziness I'd've told God to shove existence up His ass.
Ok anyway...so to help us make this choice we have a bunch of religions...Christianity is just one...but looking at that one on it's own (specifically the Bible) and we run into more trouble...that book is crazy and full of contradictions.
Plus...everyone goes on about how we have to thanks God for all this stuff...WHY?!
God's omnipotent...all-powerful... all this was therefore nothing to Him!
Also...there's the problem of why God created us in the first place...was He lonely?!
An all-powerful and all-knowing being needs to create inferior beings to make Himself feel better?
Whatever...
Anyway I could go on...the main point is: to me this universe and life and all that just makes a lot more sense to me without any Gods at all...

I don't need God to make sense of things...or to comfort me about death...or to make me feel better about all the suffering in the world.
Everything makes a lot more sense...when there is no point to anything.
I don't hate God...I just really, really believe that He ain't there.
There's no reason for Him to be...
