Harry Potter Vs Twilight: The Common Question?

Answered I love Twilight and HP!
They're both really good. Harry Potter and Twilight are extremely different types of stories. Fair enough compare, hp and lord of the rings but these two films can't be compared. hp is about a boy learning and growing through school with his 2 mates and trying to kill THE ONE WE DO NOT NAME, where twilight is about a girl in love with a monster. i like them both. but twilight stayed with me much longer than the events in hp. -

will u all stop taking it so seriously thay r both mint stories by 2 fantastic authours both are brilliant i have read all ov the hp books and was hooked on them n im half way thru readin new moon and am hooked they r both fantastic get a grip! -

srry to burst edward cullen fans' bubbles BUT a) he is FICTION b) if he was real he would have bella swan and NOT you c) the book is NOT all about edward and it makes me sick you only like a great series for this one character who, quite frankly, isnt that hot.
with twilight you can always tell whats coming next and its just another love story or another vampire story, either way. The vampires and even goths or anything, i mean ssshht, really?!
harry potter will still be loved in the year 300, mark my words, twilight is like 'busted', those 'hot' guys that made music that EVERYONE loved. nowadays you can barely meet someone who likes them and whilst people who were AROUND AT THE TIME remember them, they can be caught alive trashing the CDs.

I've commented on two Twilight vs Harry Potter poll-things, and I've just come up with this:
Why the hell are they even being compared? They're both popular, sure, but they have nothing to do with each other! Harry Potter is for all ages, all genders, and about magic! Twilight is for teenage girls and some guys (who were probably introduced to it by a teenage girl.) It centers on ROMANCE, not fighting an evil dark lord. Compare Twilight with Titanic or Romeo and Juliet or something, because that makes more sense.
BUT... I'm going to side with Harry because of this:
Twilight's main character is Bella. She fell in love with Prince Charming, will absolutely not let him go, spent half a book angsting over him, became Princess Charming in the fourth book, and had her own Mary Sue family.
Harry Potter's main character is -duh- Harry Potter. HE fell in love, though not immediately, because he is struggling with his own needs and what the world wants. He has to push the person he loves aside, but he didn't try to rip himself to shreds for her. He's a little saner than that. He's forced to transform from a sheltered, abused boy to a strong, confident hero.
Harry Potter grew up. We grew up with him. Bella Swan fell in love and went through tons of physical and mental torture for it. We fell in love (with her story) but we could never relate to her as we do with Harry, and HE's the one living in a nonexistant world! -

I say just don't try to compare them. really they are two complete different stories but this is when I disagree I like twilight more but thats my opinion. Harry potter was really good in the first few books but I think they started making way to many books about him. but i totally agree that they really don't need to be compared
