It depends on how much they need it. Are they smoking because they feel like it or because they're stressed out and need something? I've been in the situation where I've quit and then suddenly finals came up and my show is on opening week and a family member died, etc. and I would have probably ripped somebody's face off if they said "no." But if I was just like "hey! i want one!!" and everything is peachy keen, I would have been proud of them not to give in. -

If you give them one then later on they're always like "Why did you let me do that?!" And it's like "Well you were the one who asked for the fricking thing!!"
So now I just whack them round the head if they ask me for one, or if they get one I snap it in half. Gotta be cruel to be kind ^^

i wouldn't
if you give them one they will just want another and another and another
Its an addiction, if someone was strong enough to quit smoking in the first place why ruin all of that hard work.Addictions arent easy to quit in the first place. -

And is this friend someone that can make his/her own mind up on other things? If so, then why would I not consent to his/her request if it was indeed a friend. If you decide that the person can make their own mind on other things, then what is the question? That being, do you have a cigarette on your person to provide. And this from someone that quit 30 plus years ago. Of course, I do not carry cigaretts any more. -

Heh wouldnt have one in the first place, a nasty habit I never want, but no I would not give them one. They quit and if you really care about them you will help them stick to it, I have been trying to get my mom to quit for a while, im so scared somethings gonna happen and we're gonna find out she has cancer. I cant even stand the thought, but she's tried in the past and even though we were all behind her, stress just got the best of her. I hope though that soon I can encourage her to try again and help as much as I can. -

I wouldn't.....they made the decision to quit, and I'm sticking by it. They can go buy there own if they want to start up again, but I'm not going to be the cause of it.Also, I rarely ever gave cigs to other people when I did smoke. Especailly people younger than me!
