Russians Blame U.S. For War with Georgia-- Who's truly to blame for the war between Russia and Georgia?
A quarter of the Russians are looking at the United States to blame for their conflict with Georgia in the region of South Ossetia. Only one percent of the Russian people are willing to point the finger at Moscow. Over 50% of Russians easily blamed Georgia, and only 12% were willing to say that Russia, South Ossetia and Georgia were JOINTLY responsible for the war. Is the U.S. really to blame?-

Georgia is backed by US OUR money for their weapons, training and aid, thru NATO a private think tank global organization, that I believe Putin does not want to be a part of. On the night of 08-08-08 olympics Georgia killed 10 peace makers of Russia or South Osesia.. So Russia fought back. Putin has been watching the whole thing unfold Bush's skeeming plot...Our ships are all over the Georgia bays, we have missle shields in Poland and Russia is basically surrounded with our Navy and etc. I am hearing it is to distract Russia, from Bush going into Iran with our ships, you can find it all out there in cyber space. -

The Georgian Govt. is Democratic and I am not all to sure they should have started fighting with S. Ossetia... I am equally as sure that Russia seized the opportunity to try to possibly knock Georgia down a peg and let them know that we could take over here... Russia would like to blame us for Georgia's actions because we have ties... It is almost like Russia is trying to tell us to watch out especially in light of Poland signing to take the Missles... We will just have to watch for another fire to start... Reminds me of Billy Joel song, "We didn't start the fire"... I guess no one wants to take the blame for the fires all over our world... God help us all.... -

After reading this http://www.ireport.com/docs/D...
I say only Russia to blame... and US to some extent...(Kosovo could have waited until Georgia and Ukraine would have gotten to NATO as well as the Polands rockets...) -

It's our fault for allowing a selfish pig to sit in office. All Russia did was took a page from Bush's book "How to take over an area without caring what the people say". Putin is a Dick-C for the move and a G-Bush for playing the "did I just do that" reply when confronted. -

There just looking for someone else to blame and point the finger at....plus, why not the U.S.....were supposedly the reason why there is war in Iraq...and many of our men dying...I DON'T blame Bush....we are ONE nation...UNITED...therefore, we stick by and motivate our president and the people in it NO MATTER what! -

Give me a break! This is the 21st century...
Russia is only mad at the US because we are planning to give Poland defensive missles...they're ok with that they just don't want us to give them the radar that goes with it.
I have mixed feelings about this because I think that Russia would like to end up in Poti (Georgia) to take over their OIL PORTS!
Some of you need to read up on what's going on in the world and not assume it's anyones fault. It certainly isn't GW Bush's fault!
All he did was to send the troops from Georgia back home from Iraq and send in some food?? -

Obama recently implied that the U.S. attack on Iraq is similar to the recent Russian attack on Georgia?
It becomes clearer and clearer everyday that Obama doesn't like facts but maybe he should try to muster the strength to re-familiarize himself with the facts about the U.S. attack on Iraq, including United Nations Resolution 1441 and the United States’ elected representatives' Iraq War Resolution.
After the first Gulf war regarding running Saddam Hussein’s Iraq military out of Kuwait, the United States was pressured to submit to 10-15 years of tedious and high cost U.N. authorized sanctions against Iraq, United Nations Resolutions and the wrangling of a consensus within the U.N. to attack Iraq in 2003 after a U.N. resolution authorized that 2003 invasion of Iraq, while during those prior 10-15 years America foot a large portion of the bill enforcing Iraqi No-fly zones (after running Hussein’s Iraq military out of Kuwait which they tried to conquer for land and oil resources).
However, Russia reportedly tells no one of their plans to attack Georgia out-of-the-blue and puts no effort into providing any evidentiary case of any of their (Russia's) last minute claims that Georgian transgressions against humanity or human rights were being inflicted upon the people of ...Obama recently implied that the U.S. attack on Iraq is similar to the recent Russian attack on Georgia?

However, Russia reportedly tells no one of their plans to attack Georgia out-of-the-blue and puts no effort into providing any evidentiary case of any of their (Russia's) last minute claims that Georgian transgressions against humanity or human rights were being inflicted upon the people of Ossetia. Massive numbers of Russian tanks and infantry move into Georgia without hesitation and the Russian government is reportedly acting as if the invasion into Georgia was a last minute response to protect the people of Ossetia from the Georgian government when we have a good amount of knowledge about how long it is reportedly needed to logistically move that type of hardware and infantry into attack position and that time is a lot longer than a couple of days. There has been no reports that Russia put in any real effort of making a case to the U.N. for sanctions against Georgia and to build a case and seek an authorization for their attack from the fellow United Nations countries by submitting a compilation of any evidence that Georgia was violating human rights let alone put in the 10-15 years that the United States put into to make the case against a second Iraq attack.
U.S. attack against Iraq was not a last minute, out-of the blue attack. It was backed by a U.N. resolution, 10-15 years of U.N sanctions and a U.S. declaration of war.
The Russian attack against Georgia WAS NOT BACKED BY a U.N. resolution, 10-15 years of evidence building and U.N sanctions and consequentially a well documented declaration of war based on reasonably conveyed and widespread evidence.(less) -

Georgia provoked Russia, and Russia's response was disproportionate. South Ossetia also made the mistake of trying to be an independent country in a tense area of the world -

Totally Russia. It's not like Russia hasn't done this before! Does anybody remember Chechnya? It's almost the same thing, Russian begin to have a conflict with a small percentage of the population of another country. In this case the Ossetians, who were given Russian passports and citizenship. Then they bomb that crap out of the whole country. Georgia is in a very strategic position for Russia on the Black Sea. Russia also LOVES to spin propaganda. Don't be fooled America, and don't point the finger at Bush just because you hate him. -

This was a very well-planned invasion. Nothing about it was spontaneous. The Russian "peacekeepers" were stirring up hatred among the Ossetians and causing violent attacks against Georgians - what were the Georgians to do, let them cross the border without putting up a fight?
I think the worst thing the Georgians can be accused of is letting the Russians pick the time and place for this war, but they didn't have very many choices.
May God damn Vladimir Putin to Hell.
