Is age an issue yet?
A few months ago, anyone suggesting that John McCain was too old for the Presidency were considered to be ageists. Has anything changed your mind in the last 90 days?-

Answered No, I've always thought he was too old
I prefer somebody less susceptible to Alzheimer's, he could be a little sharper for me. Czech Republic and Iraq and Pakistan border threw me off a bit.
McCain's foreign policy does not seem sobered and his dreadfully boring Town halls are off key, like those times grandpa goes into his anticommunist Vietcong rants.
Than when the camera goes in replay he denies what he says even though we caught him on camera.
He seems out of touch with people born after 1950. So lets keep him in the senate, let him finish out his term. Than as a nation join together greeting McCain with warm the patronizing smiles America is known for. Than congratulate him for services rendered in his pre-senile glory days and than buy him a really big pretty cake with colors and a lot candles than send him farewell once his duration is complete.
Right to the porch of his overpriced Arizona Vista. -

Answered No, you're still an ageist if you think he's too old.
I think he is probably the same asshole has always been. You could pick out mistakes he's made and blame his age, but then what's Obama's excuse ? With his genes, he is no more likely to die in office than Obama. -

Answered Yes, I think he's falling apart
Before Bill Clinton it was considered only the aged had the experience to be president and being young was a detriment. Now the tables have turned but I really think its McSame's wishy washy ways that have people wondering if he is simply to old or senile to effectively do the job. -

I thought Reagan was unfit to be President, and McCain will be even older if he is actually wins the Presidency. He is clearly slipping cognitively, saying absolutely astounding things under the pressure of the campaign, and it is sad to watch the deterioration of a man who once had quite a lot of substance and not a little intelligence in comparison to many in his party. -

Answered None of the above
Wow by the comments on this poll, you would think it's just an Obama love fest. Character, something you might want to think about. His age is not an issue. Probally can't do so good in a pick up basketball game, but when the chips are down, I want that old man making the decisions. How about it, who's with me?

raves +6 Aug 13, 2008 03:41AM GMTCHARACTER...well...let's compare shall we?
OBAMA...married with two kids, never divorced, from a single mother household, worked his way through school, college and law school. Paid his way with college loans which he has since retired. Church goer...every Sunday he can....until he was hounded out of his church by jealous people.
McTitanic...married...to the home wrecker he was having an affair with while married to wife #1. Left wife #1 when she got in a car wreck that left her terribly disfigured...so found a blond bimbo worth MILLIONS. Never has had to work in his adult life. Spoon fed. $500 loafer shoes. HER private plane.
You do NOT want to start a character debate this time around. Why do you think the Right Wingnut Mob has stayed away from it for so long?? -
raves +2 Aug 13, 2008 01:43PM GMTAmen! It is amazing to me how much short a memory some have. It is called "selective memory." McCain changes his views like he changes his underwear.
Character is important. I know everyone makes mistakes, but for the media not mentioning McCain's past, except as a prisoner of war, is pretty sorry as for as I am concerned. -
raves +2 Aug 13, 2008 04:39PM GMTThe American People HATE President Bush and the Republican Dictatorship, that is the reason why I’m voting against the Republican ticket, regardless who the party nominee is! Moreover, If McCain would become president, It would only be Bush extending policies all over again and his VOODOO ECONOMICS. Trimble down economics never worked & never will! If you are happy with the status quo; Our civil liberties gone; a never ending war; a new draft; higher taxes expenditures; Marshal law; New world order and dictatorship, then vote for McCain! It is clear that John McCain is a war mongering fascist who is surrounded by the worst corporate lobbyists in the world. I had rather put my dick in the blender, then live with the same handed down policies that President Bush has supported. Look up McCains comments on what he said regarding Haiti and Somalia! This guy is a liar and he makes me sick! He should be in jail for being a traitor of Vietnam when he made over 32 tapes of propaganda for the North Vietnamese! There are a lot of Vietnam vets who has said that John McCain has a songbird, who gave away U.S.A. intelligents while a POW in N. Vietnam. McCain also seems to be more worried about Canada pulling out from Iraq than about the hundreds of thousands of American who have lost their jobs because of NAFTA!! McCain accepted an endorsement of an anti-Catholic group called Televangelist, who has continuously spread lies about Catholicism.

raves Aug 13, 2008 05:05PM GMTI take it you don't care for any Republican. Guess there's no changing your mind. A lot of American people hate Bush, a lot hate Clinton, every president has his haters. But not all Americans. I didn't know we were in Marshall law. I must have missed that. What is your curfew where you live? I see your a young man, when you start making good money, your opinion may change regarding taxes and such.
Even if Obama gets to be president, I wouldn't hate him, just disagree with his policies. I don't hate Clinton, actually like him personally, but not his policies.
I figure you like Ron Paul, and I would probably vote for him if he had a realistic chance of winning. As is now, it's Obama or McCain. I am voting for less taxes.
With you throwing around words like dictator, fascist, and wanting to put your dick in a blender, you might want to try to take a break before you get too stressed out. You know hating is really not good for you. -
raves Aug 14, 2008 12:19AM GMTIt's not about whether Obama is better or not, it about McCain's ability to do any better. When McCain needed a quick reminder in Jordan on how to characterize Islamic radicals in Iraq receiving aid from Iran, Lieberman was there to whisper into his colleague's ear. A day later in Israel, the Connecticut senator proved equally helpful, stepping in to help McCain clarify the meaning of the Jewish holiday of Purim.
This is a snapshot of essential McCainian Administration in action. He will not improve in his ability to make the hard decisions and troubleshooting needed as a Commander in Chief because he is too old physiologically to improve mentally on an organic level. Anyone, even at optimal health, is on the wane past 70. The rigors of the presidency are beyond him no matter how much he believes he can do it.

He is, to his credit, looking more fit than when he started campaigning this go round, he's lost weight and his moves are more fluid. Perhaps he's gotten more holistic in his approach to joint health. Yet, as president he will most assuredly be a puppet in the hands of an aggressive global agenda that will change the political structure of this country forever.
He is a warrior. This is his best, most prominent asset and one he is aching (literally) to execute. A warmonger and a corporate fascist.
And this is coming through loud and clear in is posturing toward Russia.
We're being led to believe that all aggression should be matched with aggression and of course he is the best aggressor, the most experienced fighter available to lead us, saber in hand, through a hostile world.
Many pro-McCain pundits and polity are salivating at the opportunity Russia has presented to the McCain Campaign to make the case for the need of a military man in the oval office.

I predict that whether McCain gets in office or not his aggressive behavior towards our enemies will escalate, all the more should he become Supreme Commander of the United States. We will have a leader little different from a General Musharraf or a Chavez.
McCain will lead us precipitously into a military state where global corporations call the shots over national interests.
If McCain becomes president there will be no more Democratic elections. This is the last hurrah, as America gets what she's asking for. Truly a time when evil will be called good and good called evil.
