Answered They truely cannot confirm or deny the claim.

They are not in a position to release any information that they have been given access to, thus the answer I cannot confirm or deny.

I watched a video where a lawyer explained it all. I checked out some of what he said and found it to be true. I'll look for the video and post it for you.
  • raves +1   [-] DoofusCastorCanadensis replied to Magzilla
I saw the vid. I got the link on my other computer. A youtube vid in which the lawyer's entire premise is don't say shit to the cops!
  • raves +1   [-] DoofusCastorCanadensis replied to Magzilla
not to mention the obvious denial of privacy that comes from that logic.

I'm ex military. Some questions about what our capabilities were couldn't be given out for obvious reasons. So, even saying, "no, we can't" provides information that you really don't want given out.

That's why the correct answer is, "I can neither confirm or deny...".

As far as government officials using it, it's pretty much the same thing. Their bosses told them to keep their mouths shut and that's the only way to do it.

Answered They truely cannot confirm or deny the claim.

Sometimes their own ignorance confounds them...lol
I have never heard a positive confirmation, or denial, come from the mouth of a politician.
Likewise, I have never heard a politician actually apologize. For anything.
They are sorry for the trouble (it) caused, they are sure sorry they got caught, they hope to regain the trust of their supporters,
They are never sorry they slept with their assistant, or stole 10,000.00 from the boy scouts, or accepted bribes, or abused the power granted them to do their job...
