ive been a celtics fan since 1980 but ive always been a fan of na history as well.the sonics moving to ok is a tragedy engineered by a greedy buisnessman who doesnt give a crap about tradition. the sonics have a great history of awsome players..fred brown,gus williams,dennis johnson,jack sikma,tom chambers,slick watts,ray allen,paul silas ect. they won the title in 79 and have been to the wetern conf. finals a bunch of times.history and tradition dont mean shit anymore just the almighty dollar.the nba makes it far to easy to move teams,whos next ? the des moins celtics ? i was a HUGE fan of the nba in the 80s and early 90s now with all the greed,so-so players getting multi-million dollar contracts,and thugs embarrassing the league,im not that much of a fan anymore. i was so excited when the celtics and lakers played in the finals ,it brought back fond memories of how great the nba WAS. -
I'm with you, fish. I too am a long-time Cetlics fan, and I too was a huge fan of the 80's and 90's style of basketball. And, like you, I became soured by the greed, the big time contracts to not-so-big-time players, the thuggery and the other shit that basically ruined the game. I quit watching b-ball seriously when Jordan departed. He was the last remaining gem from the good ol' days.
But, it was killer to see the Celtics win it all last year, huh?!
