Do any other adults get slightly freaked out being in the house alone??

i'm okay in my mum's house because i grew up there but this place i'm in now... i don't really like being alone. i know how silly it is but i get a tiny bit scared!!

am i the only baby here??

right now i'm alone so i went into the attic to get my CDs and am now playing them loudly and singing along to scare away any intruders!! LOL!!!

Answered Of course not! (but secretly yes)

It's so rare I'm ever in the house alone it's impossible to say. I have enough trouble getting the wife out, but then these two dogs follow me everywhere! *grin*

I think it's when I worked 10pm to 7am and came home for lunch that I feel the most "creeped" -- pitch black and eerily quiet. Just need the ominous background music for effect! *grin*

Sorry anjirocks - I am never, ever scared to be alone. I don't have an attic though! :) An attic might scare me especially if it were an older house!

Well, when I got my very first place I cried the first few nights because I felt so alone. My boyfriend was working nights at the time and I had to adjust being alone in a place for the first time in my life.

My exs family finally moved out of my house. Im living with my kids for the first time without anyone else in the house and its scary sometimes. I hear all kind of noices in the spare room and in the shop. I find myself acting like a tweeker...lol Im always looking out all the windows.

Not very often, but once in awhile I"m so terrified I can hardly stand it! I could swear someone's in the house hiding somewhere... I keep checking on the kids over and over, it's awful - but like I said, not very often. Just the nights that my husband's at work 'til 8am so we're alone- and I let my mind wander I guess.
Does this happen only at night for you?

Had to check your profile, make certain M/F. If you were a dude asking this I'd be rippin a new one. Yes, a double standard does apply.
    Back when I had family I worried about their safety all the time. As a single guy who has survived, my only question would be;
Who's more dangerous, the dumba$$ breakin in or me?

k...I'm 49...have to sleep with the tv (timer on) for a night light...shades have to be closed at night...don't want anything looking at me if I glance out of the window, and I still get creeped out if my foot comes too close to under the bed when I get out to turn the tv back on if I wake up in the middle of the night....it gives me the wiggies if I think briefly something might touch my foot from under the bed....

so staying in the house at night by myself ...I truly get the wiggins!

I need to turn the light on....brb! LOL

    Answered Erm... NO!!

oddly enough, this is the third night in almost four years that I have actually been in the house, completely alone...

had you asked this question a week ago, i would not even be able to start answering it... but, since the ex is gone, the boarder decided to beat feet, and the ex finally took her cat, I am truly enjoying the quiet and feeling of actually being by myself...

I don't really even notice the weird noises and odd things that happen here...

Answered Of course not! (but secretly yes)

I get nervous mostly because my grandpa's old dog chewed the shit out of the blinds and curtains, so when you're alone at night in this trailer, it's like being in an aquarium. Everyone around you can see inside. I finally hung an old bedspread over the big window in the living room - I know, I know, not real classy, but at least everyone around can't see right in.
  • raves     [-] E.G. replied to cock-punch

My husband used to travel out of town alot for work. I was okay until bedtime. I would always turn the tv on to fall asleep to get my mind off being alone.
