The video shows a soldier aim and fire his weapon at a Palestinian man's legs
An Israeli human rights group has released a video that shows an Israeli soldier shooting a blindfolded Palestinian man with a rubber coated steel bullet at close range.
BTselem released the video on Sunday, saying it had forwarded a copy to the Israeli military police and was demanding an investigation be opened.
The video shows a Palestinian man, whom BTselem named as Ashraf Abu Rahma, handcuffed and blindfolded standing by a group of Israeli soldiers.
One soldier aims his weapon at the Abu Rahma's legs, from about 1.5 metres away, and appears to fire at him.
A statement on BTselem's website said Abu Rahma stated that the bullet hit his left toe.
The Israeli army admitted one of its soldiers had fired the shot and called the incident "a stark violation" of its rules of conduct.
"The injury was sustained when an IDF [Israeli army] soldier fired an anti-riot weapon in close proximity to the detained Palestinian man, who had been arrested for taking part in a violent riot," the statement said.
The army said it would investigate the incident.
The rights group said the incident took place on July 7, in the village of Nilin in the West Bank and had been filmed by a fourteen-year-old Palestinian girl in Nilin.

Even on an al Jazeera report they state that this is contrary to IDF policy and that there will be an investigation.
The fact that after 7 years of intefada this is the best they can do in finding IDF soldiers breaking their own rules is very telling. They shot his toe with a rubber bullet. How barbaric eh?
You would never see this happen on the Palestinian side. They shoot and blow up innocent civilians to kill and maim. -

Not all Palestinians support Hamas and live peacefully with the Isrealis. Hamas and their supporters do not deserve to be compared to or treated like other Palestinians. He was involved in an anti-Isreali demostration, where is the whole story? What did he do to warrant the shooting, with a rubber bullet no less? He should be grateful he was not an Isreali facing Hamas soldiers, he would have been beheaded. Here is a picture of him...Innocent victim?

But I also think there is bad seeds every where we go.I hate to think my families home land to be so awful.But they have gone through so much .That does not give them the right to ignore their laws.Like I said there is bad everywhere,this is just another case. -

I didn't come at you like anything. I just made a statement to strike dialogue. Most people became aware of the Jewish plight through the holocaust and the famous movie "Shindlers List." The Palestinians were not Hiltler. The Jews and the Muslims have been going at it for centuries. Now they are in battles with the Palestinians. They were wrong for victimizing the Palestinian. The Jews do dirt just as much as those do upon them. But we have those images in our head and some of us don't look at their behavior to which perpetuates this. We have given them a pass.

I'm sorry I will never be a racist. I don't burn any crosses in anyones yards. I don't opress the white race or people with my government and I don't limit the knowledge of european history so your race does not have a vision of a sucessful person besides MLK and Michael Jackson. Number one you are an aquaintance not a friend. I don't know you and you don't know me. I couldn't pick you out in a police lineup. Number two, I didn't say YOU are a liar, I said THAT is a lie. There is no historical evidence of Jews being in bondage other than what's interpreted from the Torah or Old Testament of the Bible. Kay let me ask you this. When you get up to take the bus do you think about which section you are allowed to sit in? How about which water fountain or bathroom you are allowed to use. Back in the 60-70s in my old neighborhood you would not have been allowed across the bridge to enter. All that was wrong but now it is better. Is it 100 percent? Trader, now those black only and white only signs are in the judicial system, employment and education. They are not plastered on the walls but the numbers and EEOC cases indicated those back of the bus signs are still there. When they are gone, please come back to me again.
